Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!

-13ºF was today’s low, windchill -25ºF; 4ºF presently; 14ºF is today’s anticipated high temperature. This morning the propane central baseboard heating, the mini-split heat exchanger, and wood stove are operating and with the solar gain this PM it will get :censored: hot in the living room.

Thanks for the + thoughts and wishes. It’s the first time in 2 weeks that I’ll be outside. The first field test of those crutch ice creepers. The medical supply salesperson actually suggested to my wife at the time of purchase that individuals on crutches hold not be walking outside this time of year.

Phil- My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your wife and you.

RNG- Thanks for sharing this power company’s craziness; especially the golden parachute for the exiting CEO and the subsequent filing for bankruptcy. That golden parachute should be landing in some prison courtyard.

Bruce- Being lower than dog poo had its benefits at times.;).

Drew- I really like your setup and grapple. I really like the wax job. My NH Blue is now more of a surf blue color:embarrassed: Thanks for sharing the pics.

Dogs tolerate THC and CBD pretty well. My first dog was a college dog. He went out of his way to keep all beer kegs clear of leaked/spilled beer, all beer glasses empty, and any smokeable mind altering vegetable matter laying around eaten.

I’ve had decent results with CBD; much better results with THC.

Ted- Thank you for the sunrise pictures. It’s beautiful country.

Again thanks for the +’s. My knee thanks you too.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 7:45AM. Cloudy with occasional light rain during the afternoon. High 51F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Hoping for good news from your knee doctor visit, Jay. And that the round trip is uneventful!

Dope for dogs! What'll they think of next?:confused2:

Got all the downed trees moved off the building site yesterday; in 20/20 hindsight, I shouldn't have put them there to begin with. The idea was to set up a burn pile near where I'd be processing the trees into firewood, and that was one of the flatter areas to work in. Same characteristic that makes it desirable for a building. Now I'll have to set up a fence to catch anything that decides to roll out of the burn pile, but that's just a few T-stakes and a 40' roll of wire fencing. It's already setup on another piece of property, ready to use on other burn piles that were taken care of by the Camp Fire.

Laid out a 80'x100' rectangle on the build site, and got the perimeter dotted with paint every 10'. Finished at dark, so didn't have a chance to get any elevation measurements. Hopefully the rain holds off long enough to get a few this morning.

Nice sunny day yesterday so I rolled out the new-to-me bike out of the garage for a few photos while it's still in "as received" condition. That's when I noticed the spots of oil underneath it, coming from the usual spots. Probably loose oil pan bolts and he didn't use a new crush ring under the oil drain plug. The adventure begins.:confused2:

26ーF and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 43ー. Looking forward to the 50s and 60s this weekend. What a contrast from below zero just a couple of days ago.

I've almost always lived in houses with forced air heating/cooling. The sole exception was the first year of my first marriage, we lived in a small studio apartment in downtown St. Louis with radiator heat and a wall unit air conditioner.

Flying. I've always wanted to. I have several friends who flew powered parachutes and fixed wing ultralights back in the '90s. I almost bought a fixed wing trike once, but decided to spend the money on a new custom bass guitar instead. I've also considered over the last few years the idea of building an experimental aircraft. There's a company in Mexico MO called Zenith Aircraft who makes a couple of neat models you can build from a kit. They do all the machining, and you just do the assembly. Again, I'd rather spend the money on music equipment, so probably also not going to happen. Would be fun, though, to have a small STOL aircraft I could take off and land from my pasture.

Best wished for your wife, Phil.

Guy up the road built his Piper Cub lookalike from a kit. Techniques were just like the r/c kits. Just bigger. LOL.

56°F here this morning and very foggy. Forecast says 65°F this afternoon with 30% chance of rain.

If wind stays calm, I'll try trimming a few more trees today. I have piles of limbs everywhere, waiting for ground to firm up enough to get the 55 hp tractor / grapple in to take piles to burn pile.

Also need to get an application of pre-emergent herbicide on yard around the house. I'm using Nitrophos Barricade granular (Prodiamine based) then follow up with Dimension liquid (dithiopyr based) in two weeks. We built our house in the middle of one of our pastures and have been battling grass burrs (sand burrs) ever since.

Hope everyone has an excellent Friday and even better weekend.

Prayers to all.

63°F and .16 inches rain. Enough to water my new concrete 🤙

Likely got to town later, lunch with wife, errands, trip to HD for things like Simpson post bases, several 4x6s.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, check out a site "cbdMD.com" They are based in Kentucky, but actually ship from your home state of NC. Their products are legal in all 50 states. Wifey swears by the cbd for her degenerated discs and her osteoarthritis. Does not contain any THC.

Drew, this is same company I get the 5000 strength for Sophie. No problem shipping to Hi. If you call or text you might wrangle a discount.

Was curious if pet cbd was effective for thunder anxiety. Several months back we had one of those really really close strikes, actually lit up the living room and it was middle afternoon. Unfortunately, Kekoa was dead asleep and profoundly startled. Now he will actually tremble if he senses thunder. Melatonin helps if given soon enough.

Got to10 before midnight, was 21 at sunrise.
27 now with heavy snow, only supposed to last a couple of hours, covering the ground rapidly now.

I use CBD oil for aches and pains, not sure if it works better than other stuff but what the heck.

I hope everyone feels better, at our ages there are plenty of issues to go around. God bless you all.
