60°F this morning and forecast for 71°F this afternoon. Weather Channel is predicting 38°F for Wednesday morning so ..... typical Texas January temperature roller coaster.

During moving equipment, out of the way, to install new shop lights one of the casters on my out feed / assembly table failed. Simple? Tip it over and replace the caster? Nope, not that simple.

The bottom deck is home to a large 6 drawer drafting flat file cabinet. In order to not have to unload and remove the flat file I'm going to put my palletforks on the tractor, install the 72" fork extensions, and see if I can just lift the entire table high enough to replace the caster. I may just replace the entire set with higher capacity casters that I already have. The new casters are a bit larger so ..... will make the table height a bit higher that the table saw. I've already planned to build a new out feed table for my table saw this spring so, no problem.

I'll get some pictures ...... as this progresses.

Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Prayers to all.

They're both sweeties!
How old is Sarah...about 6 months?

Not quite, 16 weeks. She痴 about 40 lbs. The older dog is slightly over 70. We try to keep the weight in check. My wife has run a dog grooming shop for years. She痴 seen a lot of overweight dogs.

temps clawed their way upwards out of the teens, now 20. By 11am it will warm enough to head out.
After I bring back a pickup truck load of mulch hay, I'm going to build my worm bag. Fun little write-up on their website,
of course, I am 100 percent conflicted since Mom is my adorable goddaughter. Her Dad was my closest friend in high school.
Very photogenic family, told them they need to make commercials with their kids plugging their products.
Ok, who wants to be the Worm Lady? me, me me.

They apparently are getting in almost more business than they can handle.

Looks like the low is 13° this morning. It started snowing just after I posted yesterday. It snowed most of the day it looks like we got 8-10 inches. We ended up with some pretty good drifts. Today is going to be partly cloudy with some wind and In the high 20's.

I'll go out later this morning and move the snow around. I'm not sure if I'll get much of anything done after that.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Got some seat time. Cleaned up the drive and walkways. Before snow and rain come in this afternoon and overnight.

Drew, good article on worms. Never thought you could run a business selling worms for composting. For fishing yes.
Worm are a natural thing here. Just water lawn and worms come to the surface. My piles of leaves are loaded with them.

Drew, keep us updated with the worm bag. That is one thing the horticultural club does not have. Most are open to new ideas. How do the worms do in the heat?
Is there a “commercial” version of the “bag” like dumpster size? Would Urban like to try something large in a community setting?

Is there someway to incorporate seat time in worm poop?

The club said they once tried composting and it was a failure, but did not ask them the details. Now we just fill up dumpsters and a company makes the compost and we buy it by the bag. We have several hundred bags in the stock pile.

5° this am, but no 30 mph wind. Felt so much better than yesterday.

Little gas line explosion yesterday in southern ohio near my hometown. One person lost their house and vehicles. Gas lines are everywhere there due to all the gas drilling.

Besides the unusually cool weather, and unusually warm weather, and the very unusual amount of rain in the last 6 months, this past week I got a letter from the city. It seems that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has "updated" their studies of the floodplain and I'm now in an area where mandatory flood insurance may soon be required.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

The wind was howling here all night. -2ºF was todays low temperature and the wind finally becalmed. A clear and sunny morning; 14ºF presently; ~18ºF for today’s high. I got up this AM let Brogen do his business on the tether, prepared his breakfast (still uneaten) , cleaned out the wood stove, made a fire, made coffee, drank coffee, and went back to bed (i.e. rest the knee).Plan for today: Not Much. As much as I dislike rain in Winter; this midweek storm is welcomed this year (if wifey does some roof raking;)). 3 weather events on the radar screen.

Kyle- Your son should be congratulated.

Bruce- Thanks for the information on the drone. I upgraded/installed DJI’s most primitive flight controller in my homebuilt. The Mavic can almost fly itself when programmed correctly.

Irv- I hope that you shake your sinus infection, and thanks for sharing the picture of your dogs. Boxers are magnificent dogs.

Buppies- I hope that your wife has a great birthday.

BEF- I am happy to read that no reports of hurt/injured. One small consolation for the homeowner and family.

I hope that everyone has a decent day today.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

24°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 43°. Expecting rain this afternoon and through the evening. Warm spell for the next couple of days here, then back below freezing for the weekend.

Wife got a couple of lights on the dash of her new car yesterday. Voice in the car told her to get engine serviced soon. She was not pleased. A call to the Kia dealer revealed there is a recall on the Niros for a fire hazard somewhere under the back seat. Kia's not having a good time with fire hazards lately. Lady at the dealership told her the soonest they could get her in is Thursday afternoon, yet told her it's safe to drive until then. She asked for her name, and noted that she told her it's safe. Hoping she was right.
