Sorry about your thumb. I like to use torx screws with my drill to drive them in. Has cut the thumb smashing rate way down.

I was doing finishing nails on trim work on ceiling wearing progressive glasses. Recipe for purple thumb.

Good morning! 55 ˚F heading to a balmy 71 ˚F. Cloudy.

Yesterday was misting all day and outdoor activities were canceled. I'm in pain between each word (space bar) because the hammer became acquainted with my thumb during the pull down stairs trim installation yesterday.

Today is Horticulture day. Of the 350 organic gardens nine have been vacated this year and I'm 6th on the waiting list now. 5 gardens are on the front row so I'll be able to use the tractor to compost and mulch it if just one person does not show up or picks a mid garden. I'm going to have to post some pics, these gardens are amazing, and the green house nursery is huge.

Will today be the first seat time day?
An e-mail that was sent last night which said the "tractor guys" will fill up your wheel barrows with mulch just put three wheelbarrows together so they can use the tractor to load them. The mulch is used between gardens on the walkways and in gardens during the summer.

I need to take a flashlight along and figure how the tractor door railing is attached to change out the railing. Pic below of doors.

Phil, hope you wife recovers quickly and the problem is fixed.

Why not contact Morton Building and get their take on it?

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 6:00AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High around 50F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.

Yesterday saw another three inches of rain fall, an inch of it coming down in just a couple hours last night. A gust blew the roof off the parts van, again, landing it in the flower bed next to the good van. It was held down with a ratchet strap, but it either got loose or broke, maybe due to the fire. I did notice that someone had moved it during the evacuation, so maybe they didn't get it back on correctly. Moved the roof into the garage for safe keeping for now; the winds and rain will have to slack off before I can do anything else with it.

I gave up on nails when my carpal tunnel had me throwing hammers after just driving in a few, Kyle. Even if I have to drill a hole first, I think screws just do a better job. I also find I have a much better chance of hitting a punch if I actually look at it when I'm swinging the hammer. But sometimes I have to look at the end resting on whatever it's punching to make sure everything is aligned properly, and that's when I put a glove on the holding hand. I've still busted fingernails through the glove, though. I can't repeat here what usually comes out of my mouth when that happens. Oh, so I guess I'm still single 'cause I've been riding those fuddy duddy ol' BMW motorcycles instead of a crotch rocket?:laughing:

Speaking of motorcycles, I finished up the repairs on the electrically heated jacket liner yesterday. The material in the collar was also shot, so I found some waterproof nylon to cover it. That area often gets wet when I"m riding in the rain, so I think it'll work better than the taffeta that was on the original. Tried it on, and somehow I managed a snugger fit at the collar as well, so now the jacket is better than new. Not bad for a 29 year old piece of clothing.

Off to town today for groceries, and I also have meetings set up with the insurance agent and the company that erects Butler buildings here. Hope to get the insurance claim started, and maybe pare down the premium by dropping risks that I'm not likely to encounter. And I'm hoping that the construction company can give me some insights into the permitting process, and how to deal with the steep grades around the building site. Most of all, though, I want to hear how resistant the thing is to wind driven embers; no sense putting something up that'll just burn down in the next fire.

33 now after a 25 early, a lot of cool, warm, cold, heavy rain and high winds over the next two weeks.
Took my grandson to school again today, made a trash run, walked the dog, or she walked me, I cleaned my 10/.22 and test fired it a few rounds, I’m hearing what I believe to be coyotes yipping in the evening about 1/2 mile back across an open field, first time in this part of the county. That may well account for the drop in outdoor cat activity. Haven’t found any prints in the snow or elsewhere on my property, but the cats go all over.
I found out that my Medicare supplemental policy is not the one I signed up for, now in a battle to get it fixed. I had type F and someone decide to modify it “to save me money”, please don’t help me unless I ask!
Don, I hope the finger recovers quickly, Buppies I hope your arm is recovering, everyone with issues, get well soon, prayers for y’all.

Good morning to all! Low was 29F, going up to 45F today, sunny until this afternoon when a storm moves in. Starting as rain, then snow, then maybe back to rain if it's still here. They say it's a fast moving storm front.

Mpham, wishes for your your wifey's continued improvement, prayers sent.

Don, sorry to 'feel' your pain, been there, done that, not pleasurable!

Prayers and thoughts out to RIP and his wifey for good news.

I'm off to PT in just a few minutes, we'll see what goes on....

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for all!

Here are links to rail at HD Don. At $50 you'll spend more trying to "fix" the bent rail than just replacing it. They have replacement hangers as well.

National Hardware is the real source.

Did you ever measure the length the entire rail?

Drew, when you get the shed ceiling insulated, are they putting any kind of sheathing up afterwards? There is a large heat loss through ceilings, so if they are not putting anthing up, maybe consider a product like "Thermoply". It's reflective and will help to seal the area up.

35°F and dense fog this morning with some drizzling rain, going up to 40° today. The people who study meteors are now suggesting that the Friday night / Saturday storm will likely give us significant snowfall, and maybe some ice. Lovely.

Neglected to mention that I saw a Facebook post Tuesday evening from the singer of my old Sammy Hagar tribute band. It was a picture of their first rehearsal since Bobby, the drummer, had his right leg amputated last Summer. He's back behind the drum kit and playing with his new prosthetic. Probably one of the best pictures I've seen in a long time. He is definitely driven to succeed.

Can't go wrong with a 10/22, Randy. Fantastic rifles. My Wife's late grandmother used to call her Annie Oakley, as she's apparently accurate enough with her scoped 10/22 to hit a skunk on the run at about 75 yards.
