Got the mowing done, man was it dusty, worst this year! Grass was thick but not tall, turning also, probably 60% dormant. Got to pick up my grandson today from school.

well hopefully none of these bugs made it up your way, no wonder I've been munched in the last few days:

Giant mosquitoes emerge in North Carolina post-Florence - CNN

bit of an altercation, again..., with neighboring farmer planting the fields of the abandoned farm next door.
The owner hadn't told him of my lease arrangement, but I had mowed the leased area yesterday, and it had no less than 8 white plastic pipes
driven in to show the boundaries. This mental midget comes along with his tractor and disc, pulls out all the stakes and proceeds to start disc'ing up all my leased land. I stop him and he acted stupid. That wasn't hard...How could you pull up stakes in a clearly marked field without asking around? Now I have to take a tape measure back out and remeasure and redrive the boundary poles.
Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Tough to deal with idiots, Drew. Bummer you have to redo your work.

Killed one in the shower last night, but they aren’t new here, or in northeastern NC where I’m from, I remember them as a kid.

I haven't seen any of those big mosquitos, but we've had a wet Fall (or I guess I'm supposed to say "Autumn" now), so we've had mosquitos. And I did almost nothing today, but sit and watch it rain; not a hard rain most of the time, but persistent a good part of the day. I think it's finally over for today and I poured just about exactly 2" out of the gauge.

Wng. The only thing that has worked for my house dog that痴 been sprayed twice this summer has been.
1quart peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon Dawn dish soap.

It has taken us about 4 baths over 2 weeks each time to get the smell off that dog. But my wife is very sensitive to the smell. To me it stinks but it痴 not gagging. I won稚 let the dog in the house though.

72 this morning and headed to 84. Last warm dry day looks like.

Birds are gone. Now the real work begins. Finish washing today and help horse riding program get hay in barn. Then maybe time to put litter in windrows.

We used this formula and it helped a lot. Unfortunately, since a lot of the skunk oil got on the face, and I couldn't wash it as thoroughly, not wanting to get any mix in her eyes or mouth, there is still some lingering Pepe Le Pew. Turns out there was a cat and a skunk out there this morning.

Drew, be glad he pulled the stakes... the farmer renting our ground drove over and took out a dozen or so t posts marking our boundary line. When his son in law took over for him a couple years ago, I laid it out for him.. he has only knocked over a half dozen. He doesn't do well on fence lines either. I wouldn't be mad at the farmer in your situation if the land owner did not tell him about your lease.. he could have thought it was staked from old lease.. still could have stopped and asked.

Temps are about 10 degrees below average for highs, like it around 70 this time of year, but in high 50s most days now. I finished winterizing travel trailer yesterday so just have the sprayer left. I need another gallon of rv antifreeze to do the sprayer, might mix a tank and spray the yard one more time.. have some stubborn thistle.

Prayers for all.. stay safe.

Got home early yesterday and decided that I had enough time to give the arena a tidy up with the harrows and give the weeds some grief, SWMBO unlocked the shed at the weekend to let an agent in and locked it again and put the key somewhere, the tractor is in the shed, I can't find the key, she is out somewhere and her mobile phone is on the kitchen table, the bolt cutters are in the shed with the tractor, I had a beer instead.

Mine ain't dormant, growing like crazy.
Finished mowing field last night, then remowed some from earlier that already grew 6-8".
Wanted to mow yard tonight, but gets dark too soon now. It is really tall also.
