My first shot cost me 180 bucks at a CVS store. I went back for the second shot, but this time with a prescription from my doctor, and it was free. Call your primary doctor before you go. Might save you some money. Looks like a warm but cloudy day here today.

good idea.

warm here too, 70 going up to 90, must be the last gasps of the hot weather.
I'm going to take my time and mow lawn today, all needs it, all I have planned to do
Had no problems going to sleep last night and thankfully no leg cramps. Made sure to put mustard
on my lunch.

actually have to pick okra this morning, still growing, slowing down, but on sunny days it still does well.
Food banks says more please so I'll keep picking.

spent some fun time online picking out a Halloween mask. Decided on a cow head, least scary for my neighbor's two year old.

65 with 90 this afternoon. Then autumn comes back tonight.

I got the Presidential Alert. Mine said to immediately get in the La-Z-Boy and take a nap. :)

Thanks for the shingrex links...I got the original shot a few years ago, and haven't thought there was anything else to do...I guess I'll read up on it. Randy, sorry you're still feeling the effects.

Went to the Kubota dealer after the gym yesterday...they didn't have any hydraulic filters...so ordered one for me...should be there this morning.

So instead of changing hydraulic fluid yesterday, I washed clothes and vacuumed the house...I'm still in Mr Mom mode...wife been gone 3 weeks...longest ever since we've been married. I actually enjoy vacuuming since that was an assigned chore I had when I was a kid...and I listen to music and dance and skank around the house.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 70° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 71° with mostly sunny skies. The weather report is a little deceiving. It was 75° at 1 am. We have already seen the high with temperatures heading to 40°. Got Garden Pond winterized yesterday along with a few other winterizing items done. On top of list is a haircut. Then a couple of shopping stop on the way home.

I got in house yesterday about 2 pm. Got relaxed in recliner. All three iPhones and two iPads went off on time and at same time. Then the TV added it's 2 cents. Everything we have in on Comcast/Xfinity, Verizon. I guess it works.

I should have gotten the Shingles and Pneumonia shots months ago. But started thinking about it about the time surgery was scheduled. Doctor/Surgery teams recommend that I get the flu shot and hold off on the others. So I have scheduled them for sometime in December.

Wngsprd. "I actually enjoy vacuuming since that was an assigned chore I had when I was a kid...and I listen to music and dance and skank around the house." Another comment that make my mind go in circles.:D

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

I did not receive the alert. Did it stay on the phone till you clear it, or does is self disappear? Did anyone else not receive it?

My wife and I have Sprint cell phones and we both got it at 1:18 p.m. The TV, Spectrum cable, was on at the time (the Western channel, I think) and the message came on the TV a couple of minutes after the phone message. I promptly cleared it from my phone and my wife later told me she couldn't find it on hers, so I found it for her. She had been out of the room when it came on.

I honestly think my flu shot Monday caused a mild flare in what’s left of the shingles, because today most of the symptoms are gone and I feel better.

73 going to 88 today, then 73 tomorrow, then warming next week before cooling dramatically.

Trip to Sams club yesterday, dropped $200+ on stuff, did eat the flounder I got last night.

Grass is slowing down a bunch here, now. Probably only a couple more mowings.
Have a good day folks, prayers.

Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 5:45AM. Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. Thunder possible. High near 65F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

A little after six yesterday evening a storm cloud rolled over and dumped 0.11" of rain, the first since last May. Another 0.01" came in after midnight, and we'll see a bit more today. The weed season begins. But it was enough to cut the dust on the driveway, and the Volkswagon got its first bath in a looooooong time. I'll have to go looking for leaks in the roof now.

The iPhone said it got the special Presidential message at 11:18AM yesterday, but I was out of the room at the time and didn't hear any noise from that direction. How nice to be a member of such an exclusive club!

Bet it feels good to have the driveway job behind you, Drew. Hope it lasts a very long time!

Like this, Wng?

Got the driving lights mounted to the engine guards on the old BMW yesterday. The kit came with bolts to attach the yokes at the bottom, but to use them the tubular guards would need to have a threaded sleeve installed. I found an old bolt to make the sleeves from (easy lathe work, huh Ed?), and used the mill to drill the holes. Turns out the iPhone already had an app for measuring angles, but I couldn't quite get the 25° slope needed in the vise. 29° turned out to be close enough for the girls I go with. Tried welding one in but made a mess, so the rest got silver brazed. That's when I found out I was out of both oxygen and acetylene on the big torch; it only took thirty-eight years to empty them. Had dad's old air-acetylene outfit still, and that turned out to work just fine with a little patience. The guards'll get bead blasted today if I get a long enough break in the rain.

Grocery run into town today, and will take those bottles in for a refill as well. The Vanagon will get a workout, but only if I can figure out how to keep those bottles from rolling around.

Good morning all. Quite a breeze getting up here, though we have been promised no rain for today.

At one time there were hopes of taking a second cut from the hay field, however it never happened as growth this year has been restricted by the lack of rainfall. The sheep will be thrilled to know they get it all, time now for me to go over and open the gate, then stand clear of the stampede.

Rick, some interesting lines of implements alongside your harrow frame. Have Armstrong been making equipment for a long time ? That carrier seems to be built with a little more thought than some others.

Eric, the picture was taken at the Kubota Dealer. They've been in business since the 1950's and started out as a Massey Ferguson Dealer. Lots of "interesting trinkets" there.

Armstrong Ag is local equipment manufacturer in Brenham, Texas, about 55 miles from the Ranch.

Armstrong Ag - Home

They've redesigned their 3-point chain harrow, but not yet update their web site. The one I bought has CAT 1 / CAT 2 hitch. Their web site still show two different models.

FWIW ...... I tried to do this with my 3-point boom pole, back in the spring, but it didn't work very well.
