Hooked trailer to truck, and was driving around barn, and it came off the ball. Right size ball, must not have been down on ball all the way when i latched it. Good thing i was only in yard, and not on the road.

View attachment 571907

Had that happen about 6 months back, the ball retainer latch was too tight and not properly capturing the ball, I loosened it until got under the ball properly.

well how's this for New English...
somehow one of my Youtube jaunts wound up with British car and truck accidents video compilation
where car cams recorded everything.
Well I've now learned what a tosser is. Never knew this...
And the drivers who witness the poor driving or are hit generally bundle it all together as fornicating tosser.
Said with a marvelous proper British accent.
Or is it we who have the accent?...
Urban Dictionary: tosser

now what was the Amish?

3 a.m. ish

So I figured out that my Deere rider's intermittent problem is fuel related. It has a mikuni vacuum fuel pump. But I might try to replace the fuel line first as it is 13 years old and could be internally collapsed. the vacuum fuel pump has 3 hoses to it. 1 from the fuel tank, 1 to the carb, and 1 to the engine block for vacuum pulses. I might check that on first to see if heat has maybe cracked it.

Got the oil changed on the commuter car.

Took our middle daughter a cheeseburger, fries, and Dr. Pepper for lunch at school. She really enjoyed it. Enjoyed chatting with her teacher assistant who assists her all day. I can tell she loves my daughter.

Then, took my wife out for a "day after" birthday lunch. She's been teased on facebook if she has reached age 23 yet....she still weighs the same as the day we married.

Listening to our local high school football game over the net. winning 13-0 almost halftime.

Good evening all. 75F for the start, overcast and calm wind. Less wind today, sprinkles early in the day, more rain later, rain gauge had 2+ inches this afternoon, high temp 82F, low temp so far 72F. Got the bike ride in, had trouble getting motivated for more woodpile work. Did get a nap in. Dog sitting around with legs crossed, doesn't want to go out in the rain:eek::confused3:
Kyle, had a fuel pump like that on the old Agco. There was a sintered brass looking area that I had to blow out and it started working better.
Lynn, wonderful pics.
Prayers for all.

When I was still in High School, a cheeseburger, fries, and Dr. Pepper was my favorite Saturday lunch, in town.

Kyle, if you been using ethanol contaminated gasoline, do yourself a favor and just replace all soft lines that fuel goes thru.

Then get a bottle of StaBil Marine 360 to treat your ethanol contaminated gasoline.

You'll be ....... glad you did.

Lynn's ski slopes and mountain adventures! For those who don't like their skiing too steep... ;)

he's seeing an unusual wear pattern on the front tire treads.
in 20 miles? ???? something must be awfully wrong if rubber is getting scrubbed off that fast...unless the little rubber nipples
on new tires are the tell tales.

pulled out all the plastic deer netting from the garden, very difficult due to tall weeds growing into netting, but I got it done, hauled off to dump and then back home. Mowing done, did not get anywhere on driveway, maybe tomorrow.

That a dump trailer, Drew?

70 going to 78 and rain by evening. Rained pretty hard yesterday morning, kind of out of the blue.

Lynn, not quite enough ice out there to tempt you to take a ride on the sled :).

Drew, why did you have to take the deer fencing down? Does it deteriorate?

Kyle, happy birthday to your wife! Sounds like she probably didn't eat a cheeseburger and fries and soda at lunch.

Based on the holes dug in the pasture and accompanying smell, looks like we have a new skunk visitor. I'll let it be as long as it comes no closer to the house.

Will try to get some mowing done today...need to mow an area that was too wet last time I checked, and re-mow an area that I cut high because it was so tall and think. Try to get to some string trimming, too. Looks like rain for a few days starting tonight.

Good morning. 6C/42F here, not as cold as CWB or Lynn's place, but chilly enough to make me wish I'd worn a cap when doing my rounds this morning. Nice and warm inside though, thanks to the heat left from lighting the fire in the kitchen range yesterday - first time this side of summer.

Drew - the urban dictionary may be correct, but my grandma would have warned to not go repeating all you hear - now go wash your mouth out with soap. :ashamed: :)

No skunks for us and the genuine Avon lady is now becoming a rarity, she must soon be on the endangered species list.

Good morning all, 72 going to 75 with a 50% chance of afternoon rain. Hope to get some time on the lathe today, want to make a spider for it. Not much else planned but wife might have other ideas.

Buckeye, Last time I had that happen I was pulling a gooseneck and ended up sitting by the road re-wiring the plug. Glad you had the chains hooked.

Mrs Kyle, happy birthday!!!

Rig, 3 am, ish Thanks. Is the StaBil Marine That much better. Been using the Brigs and had no problems.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

good morning all. Another nice day, and I'm resealing the driveway today. Should be interesting doing this by myself.

The little one ton trailer is not a dump, wish it was. But I did want one with solid steel walls and that has worked well. Trailer is small enough for me to use pulled behind a tractor on the farm, not just for the road.
netting was light I could pull it out myself. Really struggled getting it out where tall weeds had grown up into the webbing.

Guy at dump groused when I said I couldn't go walk inside that big dump trailer but he clearly had experience so he walked on top of it, otherwise I filled up a huge container all by myself. Not recyclable unfortunately.
I had already recycled this plastic netting, having used it in PA on a large garden. Hauled three big rolls of deer fencing on the moving van, and movers thought I was nuts. Hey, I said I was cheap...why throw something good out. However, it had rips and tears and holes, all patched and frankly looked pretty bad, but it worked. I promised myself if I did this garden again I would have new netting and I will. The old netting was heavy duty and didn't match the Lowes netting, plus a variety of new damage happened this year, including the black snake that got tangled up in part of the netting and I had to cut a big hole to free the snake. So the netting was a real mess. Next year I think I'm going with 8 foot netting instead of 10, easier to work with and reach the top.

Cooler mornings, nice to hear the a/c turn off at night. I love these two swing months where the utility bills drop to their lowest of the year.

Had that happen about 6 months back, the ball retainer latch was too tight and not properly capturing the ball, I loosened it until got under the ball properly.

I have that retaining ring hang up all the time despite spraying lube in there like mad. I wonder if after time it has gotten bent out of shape.
We all like the sound of that final Kerplunk as the hitch falls down to the bottom of the ball.

I'm impressed the lawn wasn't dug up.

68 degrees for a low in the middle of the. night, 76 now and going for a high of 82. And we're under a flash flood watch today. Last night, the forecast was 100% chance of rain today, now down to 90%, but with 100% tomorrow, then 80, 60, 30% the rest of the weekend. In other words, the NWS should just say it MIGHT rain this weekend in some places. But so far, it's dry here.

Ooops, I must have upset someone by not believing the weather forecast. Yesterday evening, Fox news was forecasting up to about three and a quarter or three and a half inches of rain for our area. So yesterday evening, between 5 and 7 p.m. we got almost exactly 2" of rain (I could see my rain gauge from inside the house) and it was still raining. And now at 5:30 a.m., I went out and emptied the rain gauge and it was running over; five and a half inches, so I'm not sure how much rain we got, and how much was before or after midnight last night. And the NWS forecast is for 100% chance of more rain today.

Ditto what wngsprd said earlier.

In the 70's outside, grey, wet. Yesterday was a bust. Although the wife and I went grocery shopping. Something I have been doing myself for two years. Shall we say it was different? Better leave it at that. And, I was not the hungry one. LOL.

I don't think I even looked at the run-in until last night because the moon was so bright on that metal roof. Talk about changing the landscape. This AM, after I get some hay, I better go down there and start the insides. At least I am under roof now, cause the next six days it is rain off and on.

I really need to mow to reclaim my front "lawn". Unfortunate it is now mixed in with the hay fields. The mower seems OK now. I think that fuel line/tank/value/filter had an issue since day one. The other day when cutting, I wear ear protection, I picked up no surging sounds from the engine. They were always slightly there when mowing. I had thought it just being "normal" under load. If it dries up today, maybe I can give it another run. The grass is like a foot tall and thick. That's a great stress test. LOL.

It's the weekend! Have a great day all and be safe.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 49° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 64° with partly cloudy skies. Lots of wind yesterday. Need to pick up branches around the yard. Trip to Menard's for some trim for Kitchen Island. Son and grandson have offered to come over and install the island weekend after next. So all I have to do is get trim ready for them. My arm say thanks.

Ed, never had to learn new math. But when I was young we had a family from NC rent one of my dad's apartments. Took months for me to understand what they were saying.

Happy Birthday Mrs Kyle !!!!

Bird, over 5 1/2" of rain.

Good Morning All.

60 right now...and that's where it's going to stay today.

Not much today...quick dump run to get rid of the beer cans and some bottles....quick stop at the bank. I think I wrote about a lower link pin on my snow blower binging stripped and needing replacement. I got two pins from the local Deere dealer and will take care of that today.
Might mow...grass doesn't really need it, but running the mower will mulch or blow the fallen leaves off the lawn.

Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 4:45AM. Partly cloudy. High 84F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Today is the equinox, the start of Fall, and from here on out the days will be getting shorter. Temps in the 80s and 90s this coming week will make it feel more like summer here, though.:confused2:

Anybody here used the Blue Sea line of electrical products in any of their projects? I need a fuse panel for the old BMW, and this one looks really nice...

Got a start on the aluminum panel that fuse box will mount to yesterday, and started collecting the parts to final mount the carbs. Should be an interesting day out in the garage today.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, and the rain doesn't get in the way of those of you fortunate enough to have it. The big wildfires around here are mostly contained now, but still burning enough to put a haze in the air unless the wind blows. Yesterday was another Red Flag day due to low humidity and those winds, so they're a two edged sword.

Good morning! Today is the first full day of Fall for us and thunderstorms and a cool front are pushing through. Temperature now is 74˚ but will get up to 77˚ before it plummets to 66˚. We are under a flash flood warning and had several intense thunderstorms last night. Whipper gladly slept inside.

After watching the Great British Cooking show last night I made Mom a carrot cake with lemon icing. I have never seen the British make a cake and icing without using flour, eggs, oil, sugar, or BUTTER, (lots of butter), but mine always comes out deliciously nutritious. That would be a challenge for them to make on their "technical challenge" day of cooking.

Happy Birthday to the Mrs. Kyle.

Edit ; Looks like there might be a delay in getting to Mom's, lots of flooded roads. Rains headed your way Kyle and Rick.
