Wow! That rabbit looks more like it got hit with your mower than a hawk, Drew.

If you want the bunnies to eat your carrots, try putting 'em in a more bunny friendly spot. They prolly get freaked out by that monster golf cart and all the petro/people smells around that parking area.

What kind of a melon is that? Looks like a watermelon on the outside, but like a honeydew on the inside. Could your melons be cross pollinating, too?

It was more of a honeydew. The rabbits seemed to have a nest not far away from where
the carrots were put. Unfortunately under a project mower under the shed roof. Perfect bunny pad.

Big storm off Carolina's coast but not coming this way. OBX (Outer Banks) will get some rain and big surf.
Might be a fun weekend to be at the shore if you like big waves.

Another COC day with blue sky and stiff NE breeze, got to about 81. Sitting on the deck in the shade and it’s chilly feeling in the breeze at 72. Very dry.
Busy all day with mundane but necessary things.

Enjoying the cool weather on the porch. Birds are really noisy, esp the mocking bird.
Dad broke his siclebar mower, again. Some bearing went out, said it is going to be a real pain to fix. Said he would bale what he had down and wouldnt make any more hay. He's 94 and can hardly do it, think it's finally registering.
He does want to keep fields mowed. Wants bush hog. I recommended a flail, but he doesnt know what they are.

Speaking of weed trimming...we have a lot of weeds this year. I don't normally spray them, but I've started this year. I don't want to use chemicals if I can avoid it. I'm trying vinegar...for you guys in the same situation, what are you doing?

I'm using 30% vinegar bought on Amazon. It is suppose to be above 19% to be an effective weed killer. They do make a 20% but for a few bucks more I can make more by a little dilution.

Drew we had beheaded squirrels in the yard. I always thought it was gray2 or another feline.

Good evening all. 75F this morning, coolest morning in a while, partly cloudy light east breeze. Wind increased to a moderate level, clouded up this afternoon, but no rain, and high temp was 93F. Went to chapel this morning, then to stepdaughter's for biscuits and gravy, then to town for DASH meal deliveries. Lunch, then nap and worked on finding the sonar on/off on fish finder (found it :) ). Nice relaxing day cause today was my birthday, was hoping STL Cards might win, but no such luck.
Prayers for all.

Happy Birthday Mostly gas.

Sodamo, thanks for sharing the photos. Still amazed at it all, and wondering how many don't plan on rebuilding....Also, the pool temp sounds perfect for a hot day.

RNG, Whodathunk old stamp framed honda's were going to be worthy of full restoration. We renamed the Dream model to "Nightmare".

Drew, time for fricasseed wabbit? When raccoons kill chickens, they tear their heads off and start munching at the base of the neck.

BEF, I have an old sicklebar I need to do a day's work on....But not in this heat. I would really like to take it apart and rebuild it someday....but as cantankerous as it is, maybe not. I need to do some shredding, unless my neighbor wants it as hay.

mowed the weeds down in the garden today. Pulled out the squash plants that have fungus on the trunk (all of them). Put them in a trash bag to put in a dumpster. Try to keep that fungus minimized. Might be a product of the overly ripe mushroom compost.

Killed a snake today. Non - poisonous, hated doing it but we are raising chickens for eggs. They are quite common here.

Church was good today. Prayers for all.

Kyle - mom has her JD sickle bar for sale along with two complete blade bars. What is a fair price, it's been in the garage for 15 years. She was thinking $200, I was thinking $700? It is still connected to the old Fergerson tractor that that my dad used it on.
