American ingenuity once the greatest in the world ...

Don't despair Jay, I'm sure America still has plenty of people using their ingenuity. If you want proof, only a couple of pages back is that Bertie County peanut jar air filter. :)

A perfect example of that saying "Necessity is the mother of invention".

Bright sunshine and a crisp frost to start the day for us.

We go one day without rain and already the water trough is empty, supplementary dry feeds making the sheep real thirsty. Not that all of them choose to eat hay, this once decided to wear it instead.

Thanks for the old tractor pics wngsprd. That UDLX was quite a machine with every conceivable luxury, including 3 front windscreen wipers !

Drew, I find it best to leave camera at high resolution. For any pictures you want to share on TBN, it's then easy to make a smaller copy by using a simple piece of free software on your computer. There are lots to choose from, this is what I often use on a windows machine Image Resizer for Windows | Lets you resize images by right-clicking., maybe others have suggestions too ?

I bought in the bags of potatoes and put them in the garage to work on. I have one comfortable chair in there, and a table, cutting board, light and a sharp knife. Now that's a multi hour job I'm waiting for the incoming rain to motivate. Sun is shining (shortly), the house is finally picked up and I can go work in the garden for a little while before cranking up the tractor. Early in the morning in a garden, nice place to be. I have a number of elevated sprinklers and soaker hose to install.

Need to figure out a way to make a furrower on top of my hills with the Super A. I have the furrower for the one that goes behind the little Massey but I really don't want to use that rig if I have something that won't make me turn my head. The furrower attachment I got for the rear rig attaches with four bolts. Incompatible with the Super A. Looks like I might have to make something. There's a crossbar I don't have, which may be the issue. Am wondering if I put the drawbar back on could I rig something there. It's a shallow U shaped flat piece of metal. Thinking with an adapter plate the furrower I have might, well, adapt.

really not looking to reinvent the wheel since thousands of smarter folks than I have done this before me.

Thanks Eric I'll try that.
Rethinking the potatoes. Instead of a hump, why not use my existing potato plow for a ridger/trencher instead, drop the potato in and then level off with rear blade or 2x4 drag. Need to watch more YouTube videos...
then I can cultivate and rehill with Super A.

65 and windy, going to 70. Hit 76 yesterday...good for drying things out...but more rain tonight.

Thomas, short work day sounds good.

Eric, thanks for the image resizer. I'll take a look.

RNG, no Subaru engines, but some of the tractors were built around Chrysler or Ford engines, and the company promoted taking them to the car dealer for repairs or parts.

Drew, the museum is in Colonial Heights, just across the Appomattox River from Petersburg. If you stay on I-95, rather than going up I-295, you'll see it facing the interstate.

Ron, since you're up early, here's the pic for you...get you back out on the road..1969 RV. The pic doesn't do justice to just how high up this thing sits...the camper door is a good 4 feet up.

67 like summertime but rain moving in then colder temperatures for the weekend. In the scheme of things I believe this summer is going to be very very hot i.e. mid 90s in June for Mid Atlantic hope I'm wrong

If the rain and wind would stop more trees to cut yard work to do no garden for me no time I guess that comes in retirement

Replacing two last outside doors in first floor that means all seven will have been replaced since we moved here. All the windows have been replaced on the main floor upstairs not so much. Eight more windows to go. That if it goes like the downstairs which took twelve years

Prayers for Ed and his family Riptides and his family and all others in need
