6 and going to 14 so they say. Wind W 11 gusting to 24 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

We got about 4" of the white stuff between Sunday morning and now. I will plow today, probably start about 9 A.M.

Re taxes: ours aren't due until 30 April. All the statements of earnings must be mailed out by the 28 February. The first in is my T-4 from work. About the middle of March I will put it all together and get it to the accountant. From there it will take about a week and I will have the paperwork back in my hands and the taxes E-filed. My refund should be in the bank by the end of March. I know I am getting a refund, I just don't know how much.

That is all that is planned for today, stay safe all

Good morning all, Wow, just caught up on all of yesterdays posts, took a while. 55 now and they are calling for a high of 52 and a 50% chance of rain. We got 1.41 in of rain from this system, sure needed it. I tell my wife that we need to hire someone to sit between us so we can lean over and say, "What did she-he say?" I do fairly well at home or in small settings but in a big crowd I have no idea what is being said a lot of the time. To many guns, tractors and skidders with straight pipes, chainsaw with gutted mufflers....... I guess you play you pay. Still wondering about RIP, praying he and his wife are doing well.

Prayers sent and have a great day, Ed

61 and raining, with a forecasted high of 58. Back below freezing tonight. We had flood warnings yesterday.

Saw the first "wild" crocus blooming in the yard yesterday...blooming in a place we sure didn't plant it.

RNG, beautiful job.

We finally started getting the real rain last night but only .68”, a few miles away has 6 inches. Will end later.

61 but falling later today.
Gotta call Dirt R Us and get a couple loads of topsoil delivered if it’s not too wet to put where I want it.

Be well men, God bless you all and prayers all around!

My taxes may have to go to the accountant this year, residuals from wife’s practice, life insurance, sale of rental properties, the fire settlement, etc... Looks like I’d better be smart vs hard headed.
One thing I’m counting on, no refund!

Another sip and first cup of coffee will have been consumed. 13° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 24° with lots of sun. My back is not cooperating with the projects I want to do today. So it may be another relax day.

Irv, I didn't plow yesterday. Good thing. Everything that is down to bare ground is a sheet of ice this morning. Be careful out there.

Jay, Looked it up. neologisms, : a new word that is coined especially by a person affected with schizophrenia, is meaningless except to the coiner, and is typically a combination of two existing words or a shortening or distortion of an existing word. :confused2:
I only look up one word a day. It's always the first one in a post that I need a definition for.

Drew, good plans for your garden. But I wonder about some of the early plantings of the peas and other crops. About the only plants we start inside are tomatoes, melons and some flowers. Our growing season is much sorter than yours. Like your reports.

Buckeye, nice to get money back. Even if it is the small amount I am getting.

RNG, nice job. I am afraid my restoring projects run along the lines of it runs.

Don, glad the Turkey meal went well even with bad weather.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

Just got an email from our current car club president, seems our.car club will be honored later this summer for our community service. There are still about a half dozen of we founders in the club. As of the end of last season, we have donated $287,000 since 2001, not bad for a club with 40-70 members, been closer to 40 for the last 10 years. My wife was always very proud of this club!

that's a lot of good done by a bunch of guys. Attaboy Toppop. It's all about giving back and being a giver and not a taker.

going to see if I can plant these overachievers today.
Ron, the dates make no sense to me either, with my Northern DNA. But I have three different localized planners to read, including the NC State Guide for Eastern NC Gardening.
Uh, that's me. And they all say start planting outside Feb 1. The problem of course is the killer frost. I'm only planting these peas where I can throw a sheet over them. But the cabbages? Yeah out they go. They are supposed to be almost like collards, tough things that like the cold and don't like the heat. This is going to be a live and learn special. Of course I could just have a big greenhouse built there.... where it would block the sight of my one eyesore neighbor.
What's interesting here, very interesting actually..., is that my destitute neighbor farmer has the remains of three large greenhouses all stacked in pieces after the hurricane went through.
So all the frame parts are available. I'm only thinking of a cold frame.
Not this year for sure.
