Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 7:45AM. Windy with a few showers this morning. A steady, soaking rain developing during the afternoon hours. High 51F. Winds SSE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Between today and tonight, looks like we'll get another 3/4" of rain. Another storm rolls through Thursday, but they're saying we'll be dry for the weekend.

Buppies, you'll be happy to know that Dick's Sporting Goods appears to have purchased the dicks.com domain and redirected it to the DSG web site. A very decent thing for them to do.

Hope everyone out there fighting colds and flus heals quickly. Whatever this "thing" is that's going around, here it's been hanging on since before Christmas.

Just updated to the latest MacOS on one of the laptops, and so far everything's still working as it should. Been long enough on the latest version it's probably time to start thinking of upgrading the other two as well. Still holding out on the iPhone, though, as the new iOS drops some features and has been having problems for other people, and the older version is working just fine.

Changed out the damper cartridges on all four shocks on the old motorcycle yesterday. The job went smoothly for the most part, though compressing the spring on the front shocks was a bit of a wrestling match trying to get the ratchet strap into the best position. No pinched fingers and no scratches, so I'm happy. Funny thing is that the damping rates for the old shocks seem much higher than the new ones, but they are Gen-U-Wine BMW parts and the supplier assures me they are the correct ones. We shall see...

Started looking at the wiring harness for the old bike yesterday as well, and the main harness seems to be in pretty good shape. The short one to the ignition switch has many sections of bare wire though, so today I'll get some plastic sleeving on order and start replacing wires. Fortunately there aren't a lot of them.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

No white clay around here only red clay. Here is a large zoomed pic. Do you think someone painted the shell white?

The red spots on the side of his head/neck and the appearance of the tail, makes him look to me like a huge version of the little turtles we used to have in our aquariums instead of a snapper.

Don, it looks like a turtle that we had in the rivers in central Va. Dad said they were not good to eat, never saw one with white on the shell, but I think it might be molting. I saw 1 pic on google that showed a turtle molting that looked white. Ed

These "Thing" and "Crud" diseases are really taking people out of action for 3 - 5 weeks. As a "survivor" of the 5 week pathogen I can only offer my support and give evidence that it finally goes away.

Those dental office visits keep getting more expensive. At least my hairs cut still costs $16 (Senior) That includes a trim of the facial hair.

Today the Building Inspector gave the final approval for our solar panel installation. More paperwork is required, but someday maybe soon I can throw the switch.

Time to do something with that dirty icepack that used to be a gravel driveway.

Time to slip on the YakTrax.

Good Grief! I had no idea haircuts had gotten so expensive. I think the last time I paid a barber, it was either $3 of $4. Of course, our small town was probably cheaper than a big city, and it was just over 18 years ago. That's when I bought the hair clippers and started letting my wife cut my hair.
