Bird, chihuahuas are well known for being snappy at times, you were truly blessed to have shared 12 years with one that never snarled or growled.

Yep, I've known several that lived up to their reputation, and Dee was just unbelievably the opposite. I never knew losing a dog could hurt so much.

Good morning all. It may be a little dull and damp but at least all thoughts of frost are on hold again, thanks to winds that have warmed passing over the South Atlantic ocean. 11C/52F at 11 am and set to keep rising all day.

Newbury, I keep a Silky Fox "zubat" hand saw with my chainsaws - in case I get the second chainsaw stuck !

I don't have a second chainsaw, so I had to use an axe once to chop through the tree to remove pressure at a place where my tractor couldn't go. What a job. Now I try to be careful, using undercuts, but still take "chances" sometimes.

49° and rain on and off. Will warm up till noon, then will get colder all day. High tomorrow in 30s.

Drew, Street view is never current with the overhead view. I see they did update, last time i looked there was a tractor working your neighbors field.

Went to work for a full day yesterday, but payed the price last night. Not in pain, but discomfort. Got up a little earlier today to go in earlier, but dont feel up to it yet.

Riptides, hope your we ife gets over the cold quickly.

35°F and cloudy this morning, going all the way up to 37° today. Supposed to have 40s and 50s for the rest of this week.

I was never sure how "they" arrive at generational definitions. I somehow fall into the GenerationX category, whatever that means. And just as not everyone in my generation is the same, so, too, goes the current one we call "Millennials." We have one who is as model a person as you could ask for, and yet another who, despite every effort from carrot to stick and even professional counsel, insists on doing everything the hard way. Some people are just like that, in spite of parenting efforts. I don't believe it's always a parenting issue. Some people are just ... difficult.

60 and rain off and on, going to 68.

Buppies, glad your wife had a great birthday.

Took Coco down to the farm in southeast Virginia yesterday after a busted attempt last week. Still some patches of snow in the shadiest areas. Used my loppers for a couple of hours to clear small saplings that had sprouted along a forest path since I last cleared it so I could drive my truck through. Drove back to a fallen oak and cut it up for firewood. Left behind just one of my favorite chainsaw gloves - a pair I indulged myself with - Stihl goat skins. If I had known how valuable goat skin must be, based on what I paid, I'd have kept raising goats.

Hiked around to take seats or safety ropes off 5 tree stands to store until next fall, and changed SD cards on a couple of trail cams. Haven't had time to look at the pix, but there are lot since I changed them last in early December. I need to go back one more trip before spring gobbler season.

I got an old McCulloch “long arm” bound in a live oak, I was about 17 and the saw was way too much for my experience level. The tree was touching the ground in multiple spots as live oaks will do, and I misunderstood where the pressure points were. But my boss for the summer showed up with the Oliver front loader/backhoe and saved the day.

Sorry for your loss Bird! Been a long night had to evacuate due to Tsunami warning @ 2:30AM back home now drinking coffee!

GoogleMaps has the historical views of properties. Cool stuff. Shows who the slackers are. LOL.

Look at mine before we bought it, 50 plus old cars 200 or so trees that aren’t here now, a 700 sq ft Shack, cinder block garage, 30’ tall hedges. It was just a mess!

41 this morning and headed to 43 today. We are thawed. Ground is very soft.

Trying to decake chicken coops. Sure is taking a long time.

Went into the clinic yesterday for what I thought was a sinus infection came out with a flu diagnoses. Cough, head congestion and sore throat. Only symptoms I have.

Bird sorry for your loss.

Happy birthday mrs. buppies.

All you guys with chainsaws stuck, two words. Felling Wedges.

Morning all up to 40 degrees this morning and raining. Snow is going fast, drove the tractor down the driveway and then back up and dropped the front blade and put the bucket back on, pulled up to the garage and emptied my coal ash trash cans to spread on the driveway quite a bit of ice in places. Well back to this, started it at 7:30 then had to ferry the Culligan service man up for the annual check of the softner. Windy and rainy 44 degrees, hope you all get well and stay safe, I expect that later today will be a fence checking afternoon at the farm with this wind.

I spent three days in the hospital last year with type A flu, no aches and pains, no lung involvement, but couldn’t breathe due to severe bronchitis.

Sorry to hear so many folks are feeling poorly. Good karma to all.

I continued around my property, fun to look at the end of my driveway when it was just a sandy path and the old falling down barn on the left which I tore down is still there.
Our area is pretty low priority for sure if the last streetview data is 2012 and 2008 at the end of my driveway. It's one thing to see an old picture.
But to move yourself in that picture, down the road, literally drive around the block and see what it looked like ten years ago, well, quite a ride. I would think others would have
much newer data.

Pretty good rainstorm moving through, doesn't look like it will last much longer. Going to wait it out and then work in barn.

At least you are important enough to have a street view.

Dee- RIP

I really hope that RoyJackson did not get the freezing rain traveling I91 down the Connecticut River Valley down to CT that I am getting presently. 32F and heavy freezing rain up here in the MA Hilltowns. I tried to get to the bird feeders and to my woodcart earlier this AM and decided it was "prudent" to stay indoors, drink the freshly brewed coffee and burn my in-house "backup firewood." Everything is iced up outside it really is not safe to venture out so far today. I am waiting for today's predicted mid 40"s.

7.9 Magnitude earthquake off Alaska is impressive. I hope that no one gets injured/killed anywhere along the Alaskan/Canadian coast. I believe they dropped the Tsunami Warning for the west CONUS coast.

Don- I hope that you and your wife get over the "Thing" If your "Thing" is like the "Thing" that my wife and I got...... Good luck

Riptides- I am really sorry to read about your wife. This is scary. Anyone with a compromised immune system is seriously "at risk" getting a cold which could (probably) lead(s) to something far worse. It is almost impossible not to be exposed to infectious diseases venturing outdoors; hospitals and waiting rooms are just big containment vessels for harboring dangerous pathogens. I too can relate to the "quarantine" lifestyle. It sucks living in a "bubble." No/limited social contact gets old fast. Living in fear of disease exposure is not really living. Living in fear is not living. After my last/final(hopefully) flare my pulmonologist decided it was safer for me to stay home and receive VNA home care rather be exposed to more pathogens in the hospital. I had plenty of O2 and a pharmacy's worth of medications already home.

My + thoughts and wishes, and prayers for all.

At least you are important enough to have a street view.

I'm not sure that I would say important enough, so much as sorry they got you.
I don't have to worry about street view I don't believe they will ever get mine and If they do all they will see is about 50 feet of driveway and trees
Well I went and looked at goggle maps they did go by my road but not down it, ill try and post the link to the intersection

I only see history with street view. Mine also 2008 and 2012. In the current view, i am sitting on my front porch waving to the Google car driving by.

Lou, you're right in my mind. I check the site regularly to make sure it hasn't taken a picture of me taking a whiz outside my barn. Or something embarrassing.
If they ever fly a drone over the center of my place and start taking pictures there, i will be seriously upset. Stay off my land.
