29 right now...high in the low 40's and heavy rain today. Looking out the window, it doesn't look too bad....hope the roads are OK
Heading down to Connecticut in a couple hours for a meeting.

I'm glad that's just rain for you Roy. Surprisingly warm 59 degrees here, the warm air must have worked its way North.
Rain coming in this morning, not sure what I'll work on today.

Bird, so sorry for the loss of your dog and the sadness. I loved the pic of your dog on your shoulder. I think he will be there for as long as you want...

If I were Squeak, I'd be in perpetual frustration. All those yummy fish....I can see the cat walking from one tank to the next; RS better make sure the tops are secure or Squeak will get in there like a heron fishing...with a paw.

With it so warm out today, in between the rain I might see if I can wash some equipment. Tomorrow is warm also and then the cold returns.

Good morning all, 51 this morning going to 58 with an 80% chance of rain this morning. Got almost 4/10 during the night. Was looking online last night and I think maybe the led shop light bulbs, the ones that can use the ballast can be run without the ballast just wired at both ends. Will do some more checking today.
Praying for you folks. Ed

I guess I don’t know what a true “Millennial” is, since the new millennium just started 18 years ago.

Good morning all. It may be a little dull and damp but at least all thoughts of frost are on hold again, thanks to winds that have warmed passing over the South Atlantic ocean. 11C/52F at 11 am and set to keep rising all day.

Bird, chihuahuas are well known for being snappy at times, you were truly blessed to have shared 12 years with one that never snarled or growled.

Newbury, I keep a Silky Fox "zubat" hand saw with my chainsaws - in case I get the second chainsaw stuck !

28F lot sleet has fallen 40's for high rain heavy at times into to night...that should loosen ice jams.

Guess I better be thinking about leaving for work early because of road condition and void mass rush other drivers.

Enjoy the day all.

30 and looking for a high of 23F. Wind ENE 15 gusting 21mph.

Snow and local blowing snow. Risk of freezing rain this morning. Snowfall amount 5 to 10 cm (2-4"). Wind northeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 (12-25mph). High minus 5 (23F).
Tonight: Snow ending this evening then clearing. Low minus 15 (3F).
The translations in brackets are mine and not necessarily accurate, but they are close.

We got 2" over night and it is freezing rain right now.

I guess I will be meeting the Township plow on the road again today. By the time I get out there it should be all over except for the moaning. Weather Radar - Britt, ON - Environment Canada
Me and the plow get along good. I see him coming and I go hide in a driveway, it doesn't matter if I have the tractor or the Jeep. My 1/4 mile dead end road is narrow enough to be called a lane. Two class 8 trucks cannot pass each other on the road without either smacking mirrors or one slipping into the ditch.

Stay safe people,

Poured second cup of coffee. 36° with light rain/snow mix. Heading to 30° with light rain/snow mix. We have already seen the high for the day. All snow except where it was piled when clearing drive is gone. No plans for today. I am sure something will show up.
Millennial,3 of our grandkids are in this group. 2 are out trying to be contributors to society. 1 is still waiting for society to save him. The other 2 of 5 Grandkids are Linksters. 16 and 13. Their parents were raised by us. The Traditionalist/Silent generation. They seems to have the same morals and views that we have. They are trying to raise their children like we did. A hard path to take with the kids peers spending most of their free time in front of some kind of computer based device. Great kids to have around. Because we enjoy each others company. Checking birthdays I see our oldest son is actually a Baby Boomer.
Prayers for everyone, it seems we all need them.
Good Morning All.

My rain totals were off .36in of rain every little bit helps. I see where the weather forecasters have gone back to cold stormy pattern thru mid February starting end of this month. Our thaw is coming to and end. Hopefully will kill more stink bugs as they seem to be waking up with this mild weather. Ground here is very soft due to thawing so tractor leaves nice ruts

Rained most of yesterday with a high of 33. Went into town to the pharmacy for the Mrs. and glad I did because it rained more overnight and got colder. Schools are closed and I bet the roads are slick as teflon.

Keeping the fire going and hoping the Mrs. sleeps in as she needs the rest.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

56 outside this AM. Strong winds and rain just pushed through. Looks like the front is on the western horizon over the pasture.

Not much going on. Wife has a cold, and unfortunate with her condition, it's serious. Don't know where she picked it up from. We have been practicing strict quarantine rules and no visitors. Will have to carefully watch her now....sigh....

L4N, enjoy the snow and slow and easy. You are used to this, most of us look on in amazement...

I have had a very, very interesting time this morning. I did something I've never done before.
I time traveled.
Yup, no fooling.

Google Maps has just updated the imagery for my place, and now the nut orchard shows up and everything is pretty current.
Done during Jan or Feb or last year, grass is all brown, winter. Starts to green in March so...
Yeah, new maps. So I go on patrol around the property's borders.
I get to the far side and look back at my property's road frontage and yeah, there's even Streetview.
So I stand on the other side and look back, and my heart starts to pound.
This isn't my place, it doesn't look anything like it.

My eyes literally went wide looking at the screen.
But that huge dead tree came down two years ago, and clearly I was looking at something in the past
because where there was now scrub trees that I mow around, and bushhogged in there just a month ago, the pictures shows a large clear area
with heavy grass and no trees. I thought I was in a movie...
I went up and down the road and it never changed.

So hurriedly I printed out the picture and when it printed, aahhh, there it is. There's the answer.
Imagery 2018 Street View 2012 printed on bottom of picture.
How cool, I get to see what it looked like two years before I bought the place.

Whew. The houses were there so at least I knew I shouldn't look around for dinosaurs....:D

Great fun actually.

I hope the folks in Alaska are ok, tsunami warning. Time to get out the surfboards Californians...warning goes all the way to San Diego

Sorry to hear it riptide. Hard to avoid right now and the bugs are some crafty little suckers.

Good morning! Colder than Ron this morning at 34˚, light North wind, partly cloudy, heading to 62˚. On the lookout for my albino turtle.

I never thought I'd shed any tears over the loss of a dog . . . . but I was wrong. I figure our Chihuahua was just about the best dog in the world, and the reason I say that is because she NEVER growled, snarled at, or bit anyone. It made no difference to her about your race, ***, or age, she just wanted to be friends. She could bark AND LOUD if she saw or heard anyone around our house, but it was just to get attention, not to fight. She turned 12 years old last November, and her kidney failure convinced me to end her suffering this morning. She went peacefully in my arms at the vet's office, but yes, my wife and I both shed some tears.

When she was a little one, this is where she liked to nap.

This was after she got nearly grown.
