Good morning! 40˚ heading to 70˚ typical Texas December day. Happy birthday Betty!
Found an 11' Christmas tree yesterday, marked it to hold. The pick your own lots around here have plenty of 1-2' trees and 12-15' trees. The normal size of 4-7- trees are missing because of the drought several years ago.

The tradition of the church is that the Christmas tree is put up (late) so that the first time the Children see the tree is Christmas eve. Back "in the day" I think this was so their local cedar Christmas trees would be less of a fire hazard. They even had boys with buckets of water around the tree in the church since they had no electricity and the lights were candles. However this year the youth have a tree decorating party and it will be up a week early. Little electric lights are use now - some traditions and not worth keeping.

If you remember the vintage big bulb Christmas lights then you can picture the lights around the outside of the pointed arched church windows. I'll have to find some fuses after replacing many bulbs on the strings of lights we put up yesterday. Hopefully I can get the other half of the lights working. This may be their last year before replacing them with LED lights. There is some nostalgia putting 50 year old lights on a 150 year old church who's graveyard is full of relatives.

39 here, going for 77 today, and I'm already on my 4th cup of coffee. Guess I'll go have a bite of breakfast.

Going for my 3rd cup in a minute. Then I gotta get motivated, helping my sister today. Too much drama, but she’s family

Bird you must have an iron stomach if you can have four cups of coffee before eating.
My stomach starts gurgling after two.

Resolved the tire issue, I was amazed someone had jammed 12.4 inch wide tires on a tractor that came with 9 inch wide tires. I was not about to take any chances with clearances
so I compromised with an 11.2-24 tire, still four inches more width total than original. I'm not pulling a plow or using the three point on this old tractor so maxing the rear tire just isn't an issue here.

Still is mighty cold out there and I need to redo those very cold three point lower arms today. Maybe in another hour...
Actually I could go light off the burnpile, a fine idea on a cold day.

Good morning. 23 degrees currently, high of 55 expected. Just saw the extended moisture forecast.... Bleak at best... No foreseeable moisture until maybe 1st week of Jan. The snow pack in the mountains is at 0% of what it should be at this time of the year. It has been 67 days since the last bit of moisture we got. That was only 0.14 of an inch... Talk about being dry. The fires in So Cal are unbelievable... No end in site.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:45AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 64F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

:welcome: LS. We could use a paramedic around here!

Pretty as a picture, Eric. Looks a lot like the Scotch Broom that blooms in early summer around here.

I don't think I have as much traction with the wide R4 tires on the Kubota as my neighbor has with the R1s on his Deere, Drew. More isn't always better, especially when it comes to tractor tires.

I have a feeling the fires in California will get us all hikes in our property insurance premiums next year. Insurance companies don't like paying for losses, and seem to take it out on their customers.

Didn't get the positioning right on the GPS buttons I "fixed" last week, and when I put it back together two of the switches were permanently depressed. So yesterday I broke them out of the silicon seal, cleaned everything up, and tried again. This time I put it back together while the ackenpucky was still soft, so hopefully the buttons'll end up in the right place.

Also got two big gouges welded up on the aluminum engine cover on the old bike yesterday, and most of the extra metal ground down flush with the original surface. Still have a little touch up, then shot peining and bead blasting to go today.

Also need to call the darn satellite internet company again. It's been a week and a half and still no repairman has called to set up a visit. Have I complained how bad Hughesnet service is this week yet? Oh, I guess I just did.:smiley_aafz:

The mornings low over weekend have been in the low teens with the highs in the 50's. It's going to be sunny and back up in the 50's today.

I liked all snow pictures everyone had.

The grandsons made it up for the weekend. I spent the last few days entertaining them.

A neighbor up the road is giving some stuff away and called me to see if I wanted some of it. Going up this morning to see what he has.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Buppies, you ever eat at The Homeplace over in Catawba? Good stuff.

I'm feeling good this morning, and thinking about food, which is good. Wife took a job today, left me to fend for myself. If i only had pizza delivery..

Finished breakfast, got the trashcans back from the curb and raked a path through the snow in the back yard. It had started to melt and refroze so it was crusty. The plastic leaf rake did a great job. Likely going to the bank and grocery later, and maybe some Christmas shopping. Am I having a senior moment or has PJ been missing for a while?

Betty, Happy birthday!!!!
