Got someone who will come out next week to give us a price on finishing the inside of our Morton Pole Barn white metal on walls sky blue on ceiling and insulated too. Next step is adding lean too on one side 12 by30 feet but may have to wait depending on costs. This is a Morton pole building that we put up almost ten years ago. Maybe with time we can dig trench for four inch conduit for power about 375 feet of it with pull line per power companies requirements

We have been waiting on Morton for almost one year to give us a price still waiting

The low this morning was 17*, yesterday's high was 52*. It's going to be sunny with the high in the 50's. Not much change in the weather for next few days.

Only plans for today is to go feed the the neighbors animals.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

32 here, pretty gloomy. Thinking about going to a pet expo. Maybe go get a Starbucks!

Won’t get anything done outside today, pretty nasty. But sitting here drinking coffee is pretty good!

Randy, still praying for you all. Surround yourself with loved ones and old friends. Make plans to do stuff with them. Tell 'em you love 'em.

Got some firewood cut yesterday. I started on an old dead 14" fallen post oak. Not the best wood but I sorted thru it. Was using the smaller of 2 chainsaws we have. A rebadged (John Deere) made by Efco in Italy. They have both been excellent saws for 16 years. (Efco offers a 5 year warranty on new saws, one of the best warranty's in the industry.) Anyway, I noticed the small saw was not oiling the chain and I had to stop and pour some oil on it manually every other cut. Deere wants $60 for a new pump. Not sure it needs replacing, there is a rubber tube from the pump to the bar that has some red silicone holding it in place. It may be leaking there. I will have to tear it down and look online for some parts. Deere is out of many of the parts, but there are some Efco dealers that have old stock I hope.

I got out my maul and started splitting by hand...used up a bunch of energy, but I needed a workout. I started on another felled 24" dead post oak. The wood had some soft spots due to the insects and possibly the hypoxylon canker. I texted my neighbor and borrowed his log splitter. Oh my, it still is a good workout, but nothing like splitting manually. After sorting out the soft stuff, I'd guess I got maybe 3/4 of a cord done. Whew! Good thing it doesn't stay cold down here much. That firewood is hard work. It was a nice day, maybe 72F with a slight breeze. Just enough to stay reasonably cool.

70°F and .55 inches rain last 24 hours. Not a hard rain, just intermittent, but welcome.

No big plans, watch some football.

Hang in there, Randy. We’re pulling for ya.

Be safe
Have a great day

The National Weather Service had forecast mist, sprinkles of rain, etc. for last night, and still forecasting a 30% chance of rain today. However, I got up this morning to find it was 62 degrees and DRY (not a drop of dew on the grass), going for a high of 68 degrees. So I did what was probably the last lawn mowing of the year, with the bagger as much to pick up the leaves as to cut grass.

Some of the weekend's chore were completed:
Suppressor is here...ran some rounds through it yesterday. It's quiet enough the hearing protection isn't really necessary.

Flail mower is safely tucked away in the shed for the winter

Need to get the snow blower rigged today.

The leaves were too frozen (from Friday's rain) to do much...hopefully they'll be thawed enough today to get something done.
Follow up...

Snow blower is on the tractor...most of the leaves have been mulched or blown away from the house.

I wanted to get back down on the field to run some more rounds through the SR-22 and try the suppressor out on the semi-auto 10/22. That didn't happen...

The Zero-turn mower was ran...probably for the last time this year. I'll need to get some Stabil next week to winterize the mower...also, some more diesel fuel.

All told, not a bad day...

Good afternoon! Cloudy 79˚.
Practice cooking is in full swing for Thanksgiving.
Got some Meyer lemons from our patio tree and made lemon cupcakes.
Garlic buttah is cooking in the oven for our homemade bread which is rising in the dehydrator.
1/2 of the bread dough will be used for cinnamon rolls.

Thanks to Eric's "The Great British Cooking Show" I now know what the "proof" setting on the oven is (I'm surprised ovens in Texas even offer it).
Unlike the show, no butter or oil or eggs or sugar is used.

Beautiful morning here in Golden, CO. No crews working today, but I still got up early to get coffee. Caught this guy working mice and probably rabbits, which seem to be everywhere around here.

?? Is that for cooking with booze? One setting for wine, another for bourbon...
