Good morning!!!!

Good morning. The phones were silent yesterday. Filled up my truck with gas the second time this week from driving all the county roads and the golf cart has been recharged 4 times from driving the perimeter trail. Still trying to stay positive, but as each day passes . . .

A cool front blew in this morning and temp is dropping 59˚ getting to 38˚ tonight.
I bought a bale of alfalfa hay to cover the potatoes. the plants are about 6" high now and they might be ready to pull a few weeks before Christmas if I can keep the frost off. This is the first time I've tried Fall potatoes so I'm not expecting a lot of success.

Dry North winds will be at 20mph so I hope no-one tries to burn today.

Not sure why we use straw for insulting protecting plants up north here. But alfalfa is a good way to bring deer and other animals that like grass for food in.

44F and mostly cloudy @ 08:00, should be relatively warm today (65F) ... before the bottom drops out tomorrow with a high of only 46F.

Worked on cleaning up some in front and in back of the house yesterday, so the septic guys would have a clear shot. Moved the 65G sprayer tank up to the shop as getting the sprayer upgraded is one of the projects I want to get done this winter.

Also pulled two of the lids on the septic tanks, but didn't get the second lid (inspection port) on the first tank pulled (need a shovel) From the looks of the first chamber I'm going to say that we're probably going to be dodging a bullet and just miss having problems with it backing up into the house. Thirteen years worth of crap ... Second tank appeared to fine from what I could tell. Will probably have them pump both tanks though ... unless the guy says otherwise.

Also took some marking paint up to the wood yard and marked off the dozen or so logs that need to be bucked.

This past Tuesday we did not get the garbage cans taken out to the road for pick up. Saw a large blue truck come part way down the driveway ... might have been the garbage guys as some of their vehicles are blue. Looks like whoever it was managed to drive over the area I smoothed out for wood storage and created some large ruts ... so I'll have to grade and compact that again.

More leaves down ... but still plenty more left to fall (50% ?) Probably should try and get those picked up today ... even though it won't be all of them. Seems like it's been hard to catch a break these last few years in terms of getting some dry weather to get the last of the leaves picked up.

Not looking forward to the cold weather at all.

I never used alfalfa because any hay with seeds in it would result in what looked like "grass" growing in the garden later. But I sure used a lot of wheat and oat straw in my garden, not so much to protect plants from the cold, but around the plants to hold moisture in and keep the weeds down.

Eric,

Congrats on the new addition.

Ed,

Prayers on your MIL situation. We had one as well - fortunately she was not abusive, just very manipulative.

Don,

Still hoping for Whipper's safe return.

thanks. They add just a little squish underneath, maybe cut vibration down a tiny bit.
And from you that's a compliment because I was thinking of you while I was cutting them thinking
I bet Randy could do this a lot better than I am and has better scissors. Luckily it cut pretty easily.
At first I thought it was too thin but in application glad it wasn't any thicker.

Ingersoll or Quincy?

Im not limiting my search to any brand.
Ice on the cars and roof this morning, not too much frost on the ground even though it was hovering around freezing. 68 later they say, and Drew痴 big rain headed our way. Building people called and wanted pictures of the site, they seemed happy, I値l bet they get some winners though.

Drew, the bed liner is excellent for that, I have an old Massey Ferguson trailer done in bed line4 10 years ago and not a chip on it.

Don, I’m still hoping for Whipper to get home.

Good Morning!!!! 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Sunny. High 82F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Riding buddy was on his way home by 10AM yesterday, and I was able to get things unpacked and put away, and take a nice long nap. The new air mattress was much more comfortable in the tent during the trip, but the wind flapping the last night out meant neither of us got much sleep and I guess I needed some catching up.

Off to town for groceries and another mechanic visit today, nothing else planned...

TGIF!:drink:
