Good afternoon!!!! 62F @ 12PM. 30% Precip. / 0.00 in. PM Showers. High 64F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.
Supposed to pick up another 3/4" of rain after midnight, and hopefully dry by afternoon. Got a buddy comin' over from Reno, and I'd hate for him to run into snow in the mountains. We're headed over to the coast on Saturday for an Oktoberfest campout/all you can eat dinner, so he'll be on his motorcycle.
Keep posting the fall color shots guys! Don't really get a fall at this elevation, and probably won't make it up into the mountains this year for any leaf peeping. Usta love to ride the hills of southeastern Ohio when I was growing up; lots of beautiful maples, oaks, and even some elms still, all decked out in reds, oranges, and yellows. Kinda miss it, but not enough to move back into snow country!
If Zack wasn't using the compression release, chances are he wasn't spinning the engine fast enough for it to put out enough electricity to make a spark. RTFM and everything'll be OK.
Replacement coil of bandsaw blade material arrived yesterday and it appears to be the correct stuff. I'll try it out later today and make sure.
No surprises at the mechanic's yesterday, but then my expectations were extremely low and I wasn't disappointed, either. He'd done nothing except discover that the brackets he had for an idler pulley on the front of the engine were all bad, either with cracks or stripped threads. And according to him, he can't do anything more until the bracket and pulley are installed.:confused2: A new one is supposed to be delivered today. I finished the wiring for the cruise control and OBDII connector up under the dash, and checked the fit of the instrument cluster. There was a concern it would interfere with the BMW brake booster, which is a bit larger, but I think we can just move the cluster over 1/4" and everything'll be fine. Picked up a pair of junk Subaru flywheels to use as the base for the flex shaft machine mount. No charge for those; he had a stack two feet high and you couldn't even tell that two were missin'.
While I was in town I got my flu shot, and a cortisone shot for some pain I've had all summer in my shoulder. Then two more allergy shots. Felt like a pincushion by noon.
Stopped at Costco on the way home and noticed a puddle under the engine when I came back out. Rolled the truck back so I could look at it, and it's Diesel fuel. I've been having a problem with the fuel filter bowl leaking, and it looks like I haven't got it fixed yet.:banghead:
