Good morning!!!!

Big plans for yesterday, but too hot so I stayed inside. I over did it Saturday morning and ended up resting the afternoon, then yesterday still not feeling 100%. Heat really takes it out of me.. We had our oldest daughter and grand daughter come for a weekend visit. Her husband stayed home with the two foster kids. It was fun seeing both grand daughters play (except when they wouldn't share) together.

I traded a Chromebook that I was not using to my son in law for pex crimping tools he was done with. Dripline is working well, need to keep it on every day until the fenceline bushes get watered deep. We only run it when we have some sprinklers going so the well pump does not cycle all the time.

Drew, hope you feel better after cooling down and having a steak.

Does anyone have any pros and cons for the transition lenses that darken when you go outside? Will they work while driving in my car, or do they need the sunlight directly on them to darken?

PJS, republic wireless uses Sprints network, but much cheaper if you are typically in a WiFi environment. You use wifi mostly, and you save.

Kyle, I've had some form of Transition type lenses since the late 70's-early 80's, wouldn't have anything else, but they will not darken behind tempered glass., they've never been a problem driving though, I guess most vehicles have enough tint to take the edge off. They do get very dark in cold weather and bright sun, a snow covered ground and sunny day can make them near black.

Wife and I started looking hard at alternative cell phone plans over the weekend. We'd gotten several recommendations from friends and family, but research showed poor coverage with most of them either in our area or in the areas she frequents for her business. Looked at Sprint yesterday, and they seem to be the most promising. Tired of getting raped every month by Verizon.

Have a productive week, gentlemen.
If you have Comcast/Xfinity you can get their Mobile system. Uses Verizon cell towers. But can have up to 5 lines for $.00. Just pay for phone and data. Data is $12 per GB or $45 for unlimited. I have been on it for 2 months with no problems.

Have you looked at the $20/mon Unlimited AT&T Mobley plan for data? Good sized thread here on TBN. My AT&T cell phone service pretty much sux, but the Data works better than my previous ISP.

Yeah, that thread caught my interest from the beginning. I had an AT&T cellular plan many years ago, and couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Rarely did a call over a minute not drop at some point. I was once standing in a parking lot in downtown St. Louis looking right up at the AT&T building ... and couldn't get even a single bar of signal (shaking my head). The Mobley thing does sound interesting, though.

Honestly, most of these problems go away once the boy it out of the house (Air Force, college, move in with his girlfriend, whatever he decides to do with his life). Neither the phone data nor the internet data issues popped up until he got his first smart phone.

Nope. Only satellite (or dial-up ... shudder) is available where we are. Sounds like a sweet deal, though.

Quality of service is going to depend mostly on where you are, at my house AT&T is about it, 2 miles away everything works. The deal might be these cheap old folks plans by the off brands, they use any and all towers.

No cons that I can think of for transitional lenses except they do not work in a vehicle. You will still have to also get prescription sunglasses for driving in Texas especially if your hood is white and you can see it.

I've used transition lenses for 20+ years now. They will not darken much in new cars that have glass with UV filters but then your eyes are already protected. If you use them, they need to be replaced every 3 years or so. As the lenses age, their transition time gets longer and longer.

Good evening all. Been a busy day today. Went and picked up almost 15 dozen ears of corn and got back home in time for a meeting that lasted until 3:30. Then went into the evening scedule. I tried to post yesterday and did not think I got through but must have. Going to pick up 3 bu of green beans in the morning.

Transition glasses are bad for working on anything outside, you can't see down into things because you are in the sun and trying to see in a shadow.

Have a great evening/night Ed

88 today. Much better than the end of last week. Humidity still high but rain showers are around.

Moved a bush hog for dad today. Had to load without a tractor. But was in a shed so we had overhead to lift with. Chain hoist and comalongs. Took an hour to put on trailer. Then back home and started bush hogging here. Vet coming tomorrow to preg check cows. Have to go get some vaccines and dewormer though.
