guess it shows I got my first "smart" phone two months ago...never even thought of using it. No selfies, no tweets, no Facebook, no social media of any kind

while throat has swollen a little due to intubating, which was expected, just had some yogurt with berries and another cup of coffee and feeling much better.

I'm going to sleep early and letting my friends watch a movie on the surround sound. Have lots of movie DVD's at home plus Netflix; problem is figuring out how to operate
the combined system with three remotes, which you can't get out of sequence, since everything runs through the a/v receiver. Of course once we figure it all out (we were the first gen to ask our kids how to run electronics...) it sounds pretty neat in there. 5 channel is pretty basic/economy compared to current specs but in a modestly sized den, the system works well.

Very hot weather but a nice day. 93 tomorrow with showers coming back in. have to be good tomorrow and stay in.

I picked up one of these last March, and in spite of the reviews, it's been working well for me:

I've been under the weather a few days, went to town yesterday in the hot afternoon, very tired. Went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until 7am this morning.. perhaps just not getting enough sleep.

Not enough sleep makes all of us feel rough. I reckon if it it takes an alarm clock to rouse me each morning, instead of waking up in my own time, then I'm not really getting enough sleep. Sounds like you have a good excuse for a nap in the afternoon without anyone saying you're wasting the day

Good morning all.

Drew, you are an inspiration to all here on Good morning. If you can't get out on your tractor for a few days, I can tell you about my tractor time and I'm sure others will too so hopefully you won't suffer too many machinery withdrawal symptoms until you recover.

The phone call for me to come and give a hand with the hay came earlier than expected yesterday while I was still refilling my grease gun. I needed instructions on where to go, as all I knew was that the fields were over the other side of the hill to me. After a few of miles of scenic driving on single track roads that lead to nowhere in particular, there was no mistaking I was in the right place by the amount of machinery around. It was a beautiful location, down by the Llangollen Canal and throughout the afternoon I glimpsed several canal boats glide slowly by. With thunderstorms threatening, everyone was motivated to get the grass in ASAP, so this was no time for me to go sightseeing. My apologies for not being able to take many pictures to share with you.

I have not driven my little tractor before in fields with so much activity going on. One tractor was round baling half the field, followed up by another doing the wrapping, a third finishing rowing up just in time for a forth tractor to get to work baling up big square hay bales in the adjacent field and then two more of us fetching the big bales and putting them into temporary stacks, each with a truck side sheet covering the top. It was a hot, humid afternoon with just a 10 minute break in the shade of an oak tree and even that was rushed thanks to a rising wind that signaled something was on it's way. If the forecast had been accurate we would have been in trouble, yet by the time we had finished not a single drop of rain had fallen, although those a few miles further north would not have been as lucky.

Drew I have probably the same set up 3 remotes 1 for sound 1 for smart tv and 1 for dish net the sound sometimes don't want to come on have to go back and start over but works well most time.

75 outside this AM, humid, lots of rain these past 24 hours. Looks like close to 2 inches! Just a wee bit north of me, had a water rescue on a swollen creek.

Kayaks of all things.

Anyway the rain kept me away from normal stuff, so I turned to cleaning out an out building. Lots of metal to the dump, more today. Cost of scrapping it will not pay for my gas so to the metal bin it goes.
