Most of them see the time spent putting a quote together as a waste of time that could otherwise be billable doing real work. But to me, not being able to put together a quote is a sign that the person has poor planning skills, and just wants to fumble their way through a job on a time and materials basis. But as I've seen with the van mechanic, even though you get a quote it's no guarantee that the work will be done for that price or in the quoted time frame.:2cents:
Sometimes, they have to tear into the job a bit to give an accurate quote.

Watch out for the power on that mini trail 90. :)

Ticks=bad. They aren't so bad down here. I believe the fire ants get them.

So hot down here, I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking.

I had a black lab pup around a year old show up in my back yard. I called him and he came to me, no collar. He'd been swimming, very well trained, he'd heel, sit, stop, etc... he finally took off after following me on the mower for a while. I hope got home, a real sweet dog.

Good morning all. My wife noticed a solitary ragwort plant coming into flower on a bank yesterday, so I thought I better have a look at the hay meadow. There was plenty unfortunately and with the ground being so dry it was really difficult to get all the root out. After a couple of hours of hard pulling, I used that as an excuse to have another play at welding and made myself a ragwort fork from some old tines, using scrap pipe for the shaft and handle. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it seems to work really well, I filled a couple more sacks, every plant coming out complete with it's roots.

Buckeye, that's a nice shiny baler. Doesn't look too aerodynamic for towing though, bet it took a good gulp of fuel to tow it to Ohio. In Europe the New Holland balers all used to be painted red when they were the low profile, little bale machines. They must have thought it was time for a makeover for this century, all their big balers are now painted yellow.

Coffee finished brewing. 55° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 74° with chance of thunderstorms mid afternoon. Got bearing replaced in sander with no problems. Couple more small projects completed while waiting for puller to show up. No plans on what is going to get done today.
Drew, glad you made it safely to NJ.
Buckeye, baler set high on trailer. Glad you made it home safely.
Good Morning All.

now I know how a rock sleeps, very soundly...;)

for what this Marriott Courtyard charges, they have no coffee, only starbucks cafe at 7am. What a rip.
Other places always had a coffee pot out early in the morning. I'll remember that next time I book a place.
So, showered and headed out to find a cup of coffee, then go to breakfast with my first wife and her husband.
Her husband helped me plant my entire nut orchard, we are good friends. Nice to see my old house....sigh.

yesterday's horrible traffic was I think just congestion, the infrastructure won't handle the flow. My cousin drove up here from Maryland and it took him five hours.
And exactly why I moved from this area, just too many people
When I could I drove on cruise yesterday at seven over but the traffic stopped over fifty times, and even adaptive cruise doesn't do well with that. I worry it's not flashing my brake lights to warn the person behind, vs internally downshifting and slowing down rapidly without brake lights. Something to ponder...

I hope you all have a nice weekend.

65 this morning and headed to 81 today. The remnants of TS Cindy dropped 3.8 inches of rain on us. Several flood warnings are out on area rivers.

Birds are gone. Will spend this weekend decrusting so we can head towards Branson, MO on Monday. It's been 15 years since I've been out there and my wife has never been. So should be an enjoyable trip. We celebrated our 12th anniversary last weekend also. Just out to eat with no kids. Nothing big as I still had birds, so can't get to far away.

Buckeye what model baler is that? Looks nice.

Drew my wife's car using adaptive cruise control shows brake lights when slowing down for traffic.

I hate stop and go traffic suppose that's why we live in a rural area. The older I get the less patience I seem to have
