I had 2 procedures last yr for afib. Seems to be doing better, but I still get it at times. Kind of like a hit and miss engine. My sister's would race.

His is under control now with lopressor but he's still having nausea and light headedness. What he described as feeling funny. They really haven't found anything.

BIL seems to be doing well, staying for observation. 20° with a wind chill of 7° now, headed to low teens if the wind stays up, if not, well the dew point is -2°!

He will have to go back to the hospital when he drops out after seeing his bill...

I get short bouts that I feel kind of weird, like losing control, or that if it got worse I could pass out. No nausea. I almost passed out about a month ago and the doc said it was a Vasovagal. Not often, but maybe once every few weeks to months. Usually I can turn on the A/C and put the cold air on me, or move around some and get to feeling better.

There is a young gal at work that had spells a year ago. She's overweight and about 26 years old. They couldn't find anything wrong with her after running all kinds of tests. She finally put out an email that basically said, If you find me near catatonic, just sit me down in a chair and don't call the ambulance. I can't afford it anymore. Even though she had insurance.

Same for me, the 20 minutes at the urgent care center cost me about $400 out of pocket. No tests, no meds, just checked my bp, heartrate and O2 level.

Good evening all. 33F at the start today, overcast and calm wind. Ended up with drizzle/fog most of the day, only got to 38F. Got a $10 bike computer delivered today and mounted on 10-speed. Tried a short ride but streets were wet, hands were cold and decided to ride tomorrow. Last Christmas performance tonight, Sunday will be done for year.

This winter I haven't yet adjusted my alarm clock to sneak a few extra minutes in bed while it is dark. Both wife and dog are mystified by this, neither seem to appreciate their sleep being disturbed until the sun has had chance to show. Perhaps I'm happy to get up early because then I don't feel quite so guilty at enjoying the occasional nap in the afternoon, especially when the rain is clattering down on the roof.

Buckeye, your BIL is lucky to be alive after that one. Hope he recovers to the point where you can soon tease him for letting grass grow on the car roof.

Drew, toppop, murphy, Frank Zappa for breakfast ? Your constitution is tougher than mine, but then I was always more of a Hendrix fan from the big curly hair era. My favorite breakfast blast to get everyone out of bed is to play The Stranglers No more heroes at full volume, although Bing's White Christmas is probably a better start to the day at this time of year.

Bups, your head is taking quite a beating recently. If I'm truthful, I'm quite pleased that you aren't posting pictures . Hope it soon heals.

Glad your BIL is doing okay. That truck looked bad.

My middle son passed out twice years ago and was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. No troubles since those two episodes and is very active.

Speaking of ambulance...I got notice yesterday from my healthcare insurance that they are being billed $577 for the ambulance that took me to the hospital after getting rear ended - over 7 months ago...still haven't gotten the actual bill. I contacted them and tried to find out if they were billing me, but they never responded. I delayed filing my claim against the other driver's insurance trying to get this info, but finally filed last month. Since they haven't responded, I'll send them an amended claim this morning. Drew, will they ignore it?

Son and fianc馥 and boxer dog came in last night...wedding planning trip. Always fun getting the dogs together.
