“….. it is time to do this.”- Hawkeye It is obvious that you are/were a loyal, highly valued, long term employee for a company in transition, but your guts/heart/head are telling you what is in your best interests. With any change come risks and opportunities. I hope that you can avoid the risks and benefit from the opportunities. Good luck.

David- Thanks for sharing your newest project. I bet there was some hopping with the front end loads. It's like a giant adult issue erector set. I hope that you got all the parts in the inventory. Good luck with the assembly. I look forward to some pics. :)

Billy- Thanks for my friend, son, and family. No one can not fight a riptide current head on. I am never happy re-connecting with old friends who have taken different paths at times like these. :(

I wish the stone walls and what’s left of them in places around here could tell me their story. Our property was among many parceled in the 1700’s and gifted to soldiers of the Revolution. I am still trying to make sense of a rock debris pile here; was it glacial deposit? or mankind’s?

LOL, we carefully disassembled crates, pulled the nails and staples. Now have some nice reusable plywood and 2x’s.

Don’t have individual weights but 1933lb total.

I guess my tractor can handle that in 2 loads. Just thinking ahead.
I always save material.

Good evening all. 36F for the start, partly cloudy sky, light wind. Moderate wind today, sky mostly clear and high temp was 57F. Worked on boat cover today, trying to find some one to sew it not going well. Puttered as well and then a bike ride. Followed by a nap. Meant to get some work done on wood pile but did not happen :(
As far a hydration goes, if they gave us a clue as to how to check hydration level and what to look for when low on electrolyte, we could do a better job of self monotoring.
I don't worry about people know where I am, as long as they don't sell that info to someone else!
Lou, moved and lost a freinds contact info before cell phones. He tried to look me up, found a guy who had same first and last names, and went to the coollege about the same time as I did and lived in the same county I did. They both ware confused until my freind asked how my wife was doing and then other guy worked out the problem.
Ron, I am somewhat anonamous as other people come up before I do.
Billy sounds like a good way to escape the yogettes  nice pics, would see that in the "cuts" on I44 after a cold front came through.
Drew nice pics, in Missouri culverts were in ditches, and drain tiles were buried next to foundation, or french drains.
Kyle glad son is better. no patience for chess.
Buckeye, nice pic.
Terry, nice pics, is the peacock vocal?
RNG sounds like you are getting into the solar project.
David(moss) welcome back, not so long this time!
Jay, any idea what happened to your eye?
Hawkeye glad wife is doing ok, congrats on opportunity to retire early hope you can do it.
Ted, nice shelves.
Bird congrats on getting your taxes filed, we don't get most of tax info till April (15)
David good photos of the unload/unbox
prayers for all.

Good morning
temp is 31°F and going to a high of 34. Wind E 20 mph. Light snow or rain.

Snowing right now, very fine stuff. We are supposed to get an inch today and another inch overnight. I may get some seat time. I may need to go around my 'route' and just drive on the driveways with my chains on that should break up the ice.

Got a phone call yesterday, a neighbour who needs a ride to town today, I wasn't planning on another trip this week but I will take her at 9 A.M. She is the one that makes the baked goodies for me. Other than the town run and maybe scrape the ice, I've got nothing to do today. YEE HAW! Energy conservation time.

Have a safe day all

52 and rained all night. Still raining and going to 56.

David, Jay called it...a giant adult erector set. Looks like fun.

Maybe we need some cornbread recipes. I had cornbread last night (cheated - Costco, from their muffin "department" so I guess mine was round, too). Wife made some Southwestern soup.

Coffee is done brewing. 36° with heavy fog this morning. Heading to 36° with continued fog, rain and maybe snow. Never made out to get shopping done. Side roads were iced up most of the day. Shopping back on list. I need milk. No other plans for the day.

Hawkeye, hope you get the retirement. When I got ready to retire and checked out fiances. I found my income in retirement was greater than what I was getting paid on a 50 hour week. Only drawback was medical. That ate up all of my HSA money. 2 years later I went on Medicare. Bought my own policy. Used HSA money to pay for that. Good luck.

David, thanks for the pictures. Glad material arrived with no damage. Now to get it together.

Jay, sorry for friends son.

LS, shelf looks nice and usable. When will next load of gravel arrive?

Jay, I also have to ask what happened to your eyes?

Buckeye, great sunrise picture.

Bird, wish I had all the papers to get my taxes done. I have no idea wife passing will affect them.

Good Morning All.

28 right now...high in the mid-30's today. Rain coming in this afternoon an a 100% probability tonight along with freezing temperatures. Think I'll get some more ice melt today.
Chores today: assemble a replacement salt spreader (might need it tomorrow!) and, maybe, assemble a Crimson Trace light to one of my AR-15 rifles. This is a CWL-202 and puts out 900 lumens...very bright light!

good morning all. Rain is slowing down and later today should be nice and sunny.
Ron, keep up those wonderful bird pics

Woke up this morning feeling better than I have in a month. Yeah.
But sad.
Got a call last night saying my older neighbor, across the street, the guy who I bake food for and vice versa, a really good friend I made here, and honestly one of the few, he dropped dead of a heart attack right in front of his wife in their house. Don't know if he had issues, but a really nice guy's life cut too short. He was the one who stopped over a month ago and quietly told me how much he enjoyed being my friend and appreciated my friendship, that it meant a lot to him. I'll hold that thought a very long time. Going to cook some food for his wife this weekend.

Make every day count guys and keep hugging your wives.

Outside chores done E muffin time. :licking:
Plans for today...couple stops in town ,attach plow to pickup, fill all feeders, take the day as it comes.

Enjoy the day all.

My friend's younger nephew is my other next door neighbor, this is their family homestead.
Nephew summed it up this was sure unexpected
They are strong people with roots here.

headed down to new rear culvert to see if last night's rain moved anything around, unlikely. They quit before final leveling but big mound of
stone/crush n run on top. It was getting late and i was in no hurry to cross, so next week they will finish it. And I might finally have a path to the
cypress pond.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 4:45AM. Areas of patchy fog early. Foggy this morning followed by occasional showers during the afternoon. High 63F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.

Good friends are hard to find, Drew, and that makes the loss of one even tougher. I hope his wife will be OK without him.

Keep those bird pics comin', Ron. No blue jays out here, and I miss 'em. We have two jays out here, a scrub jay, and Steller's jay. Parts of them are blue, but the rest is gray. Same rude behavior, though.

Looking forward to the car port build, David. If idle hands are the Devil's workshop, you must have an angel parked on your shoulder!

Cookies for rides sounds like a good trade to me, Bill!

Nice way of taming those charger cords, Ted.

Still be another few weeks before all the paperwork's in to do taxes, but I'm in no hurry to pay.

Speaking of pay, thanks to google, I paid for a generator yesterday. It's supposed to be the only one of the 22 kW models left, and is supposed to ship free from Pennsylvania. This is the first outfit I talked to that actually went to the trouble to find one in stock, and speaking of taxes, there wasn't any.:dance1: I just hope the purchase pans out...

The solar outfit called again yesterday, and now they're sending a new batch of rails using a different shipper. SAIA, the old shipper, will apparently be returning the first batch to them, and I hope giving them a refund.:confused3: Now I have two trucking firms on my black list: OnTrack and SAIA.:duh:

Also got a voicemail from a gal that hails from "AT&T Office of the President". It's either about their failure to provide backup power on radio links that have been substituted for copper lines in recent years, or their failure to issue refunds for the months during which there was no telephone service here. Either way, she's gonna get an ear full of both if and when we ever connect.

The weeds finally dried down to just damp late yesterday afternoon, so they got a dose of the last of the RM43. Had a little left in the tank, so I ran through the areas where I'd spread Preen, but there were no weeds to spray. Tried to order more Preen through Amazon, but Chase had put a hold on the Amazon Visa card and didn't bother to tell me. An hour on the phone had them telling me that they did try to tell me, but I could find no voicemail or email messages from them. That led to me being ping ponged back and forth between their web guys and their security guys, both of which pointed fingers at each other, and I'm not sure the problem will be addressed. But I've got a new number on the account now because the hold was triggered by an eight dollar charge that supposedly came from an Amazon merchant for a purchase I have no record of. The new Visa card should be here later today.:confused2:

Hope everyone enjoys a great weekend!
