Well thought I'd give an update.

Boy's doing good. They're keeping him overnight. He's already downed 2 Popsicles and working on 3rd. He doesn't care for ice cream but loves his Popsicle.

Good to hear ...

Glad he's doing ok.

BTW nobody offered me ice cream after my latest surgery. :confused3:

Does ice cream work for hernias? Might be kinda messy, don't cha think?:laughing::laughing:

Popsicles might be OK, but you'd have to be careful how you aimed 'em!:laughing::laughing:

Managed to get the dash off the van this morning, but that only uncovered where the mice had their latrine. Most of it firmly stuck to the floor and insides of the dash sheet metal. Got out the respirator, scrapers, and wire brush, and spent the next hour and a half cleaning up the mess. Still need to go back in with a bleach solution, but the worst is done.

Then I found the rust around the accelerator pedal. It seems that there was a dime sized hole underneath the soundproofing junk. Also, someone had apparently stripped out the three original holes in the floor used to secure the pedal to the floor, so they drilled three new ones and didn't bother to close the old ones up. Tried welding the holes shut, but the metal is rusted paper thin so I'll need to cut out the rotten stuff and weld in a patch. That's gonna have to wait 'till tomorrow, though, it's just too hot out there to be wearing a bucket.

Also lots of clipped wires under the dash with no clue what they're for. Oh well, if I didn't want to deal with somebody else's problems, I should'a bought something new. Oh, but wait! Lots of new cars come with dragon eggs, too.

Hmm. Not sure I want to comment on the Ice Cream. Doctor did say to use a ice pack to keep the swelling down.
RNG, lots of work ahead before your van gets on the road. Like the pictures.

RNG, you might consider the bleach solution first. Hantavirus is bad stuff. That is one big project. I would love to buy a used government humvee and patch it up road worthy, but there can be problems getting them titled for on road use.

PS, osflo is good to treat that rust.

Good morning all. We keep getting a good soaking, temperatures well below what is "normal" for this time of year. The ground is so soft that for a few days now I've been able to knock in a few fence posts before breakfast. I like to think I'm getting ahead of this coming winters work, although truth is more like I'm only catching up on what I should have done last year.

Whoever coined the expression "life sucks" had obviously never been treated to a popsickle. Great to hear the little one is doing well Farmer.

Farmer glad your son made it thru now he's on the mend Popsicles are one of the food staples I think

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 48° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with plenty of sunshine. We have had .13" of rain since June 7th. Normal would be over 2". Weatherman has been predicting rain tomorrow. But are already backtracking on that. More walking and resting planned for today.
Farmer, good news on your son.
MFW, Hello, drop by again when you get time.
Good Morning All.

Cool site. I just spent a few minutes there checking out a couple of storms, and then saved as a bookmark. Thanks for sharing.

62 heading to 84. Had a light shower around 5am, and then those clouds moved east and into a beautiful pink and salmon sunrise.

Got some weeds in my fields that I call stalky weeds...I can't remember their name, but can grow into a 7 foot stalk and then seed like crazy with tiny fluffy seeds. I hike around and pull them up when they get about 4 feet tall and the ground is moist, like pulling corn stalks. Got most of them yesterday, and one field left today. I'm seeing fewer each year, so believe I'm making progress. Found a couple of surprise poison ivy patches in the fields, so will go after them today. Then bush hog some of these fields in a couple of days.
