it is finally dry enough to work on my spillway. 4 feet of sand 100 yards long, 10-30 yards wide washed away. The ground was nice and level and mowable, (for the past 20 years) like where my utility vehicle is sitting, before the spring floods. (the pic shows about half of the damage)

from the pic, it looks like whipper is more than willing to help.

Took my 6 year old boy fishing yesterday. Just the 2 of us. And he caught his first fish all by himself. Cast, reeled, fought and brought in a 1 lb bass. He was ecstatic. It was with his new rod and tackle he had gotten back on his birthday. I told him how proud I was of him. He came up to me later in the night and told me what a special day it was. Good times.

I lost my dad in 1964, I was 12. The things I remember most are the ballgames and he and I fishing on the bank of that old pond with a homemade cane pole.

I am glad tornados are pretty rare here. We did have one about 10 years ago, took out 3 houses a few miles away. We are in a pretty protected place at our place.

56 and a bit muggy right now...high of 81 today (down quite a bit from the earlier forecast of 90-91) and, hopefully, some rain.

61 going to 87 and sunny, probably storms tonight.

Kyle, great times with your son.

Don, quite a washout.

Need to get out and feed the birds and then roast some coffee for my son to take home.

Good morning. I wonder if the sun will be as playful for you as it makes it's way around the globe. Here it has been in and out in a game of hide and seek with the clouds every few minutes, a very pleasant morning to be out and about.

Anyone fancy a buzzard burger ? A buzzard corpse has been laying out in a field for all creatures to see and smell for almost two weeks now and apart from a few dozen maggots, nothing has touched it. Badgers and foxes are not generally too picky when it comes to a free meal, so the taste must be very special. Too bad they don't have tomato sauce to make junk food more palatable.

Kyle, your son must have been one very happy boy when he put his head down on the pillow last night and drifted into sleep, reliving the moment that line went taught. Like Randy, a memory for you both to now treasure forever.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 88° with mix of sun and clouds. Never got any rain yesterday. Lawn is turning even more brown. Got a good walk in yesterday. Plan the same today.
Good Morning All.
