Bumblebee is ready to be delivered; my friend and I will take it over to the lady's home and put it in her yard, with a note.
Nice surprise when she gets home from teaching, she has no idea...:dance1:

Every day is an opportunity for kindness.

She got a big one today. I think for a while I'll just hold open doors...;)

Good morning,

42, sunny and will be mid 60s later. Nice out there. No plans but to wash the truck. Maybe it will stay clean for more than a day.
I don't get any pop -ups on the right? Must be taken off by my Adblock+ software?
Drew, that Cub looks nice. How old is it?
Billy, Yeah green is better than white. Nothing is ready to mow yet but that is okay. Many more days like today and it won't be long. If my 48" Husky ever dies I would like to go with a Deer diesel rider but the Husky is 14 years old and still doing the job. Best thing is it has the Kawasaki Engine. What a great runner it is. That reminds me I have to fill the gas can today to.
Two wild turkeys out front cleaning up around the bird feeder. Makes for a nice start to the day. :)

My neighbor Brian got a new Titan SSQA back hoe for his Bobcat T190. Used it for the first time yesterday in clay. Broke one of the bucket linkage links and bent the back of the bucket from the pull pressure. He is not a happy camper at all.

My wife had a 94 Blazer, 350 V8. We called it robo truck! Sold it with 245k miles, last I heard, it was still running with over 300k, and the engine has never been opened up. It got us thru a lot of bad winters here in Michigan.

Those were the full sized Blazers, changed to Tahoe in '95, I recently sold my '96 2 door Tahoe LT that I'd had for many years, it had 173k miles and was as clean and nice as a well kept 50k mile truck, never added oil and changed at 5000 mile intervals.

The Deere dealer had some nice X570 models, but wow, sticker shock...$5,999. I could probably get away with an X300 series, I have been able to make my L130 go 12 years and 600 hours with nothing major, just a lot of minor nagging problems. I mow 3 acres, including some hill work and trails...some of it is a little rough. I use my tractor and bush hog on the fields.

Interesting I went by the Kubota dealer to get a fuel filter and they only had zero turn models on the lot. I don't know much about them.

If you mow twice with a zero turn, you'll never mow with a tractor style again. I say twice, because the first time you're getting use to it.
I don't know what the temp was, but we had a big frost, not predicted of course, glad I didn't put out the flowers yesterday like I started to. 50's today, warming slowly over the next week or so.

Good morning! 56˚, sunny. After the grass dries it will be a good day to mow after the 2" rain yesterday the dust will be down a bit.

Good news on the suspected dumped dog. My wife has named him Big Red (old red Lab). After calling the local vet, the dog pound, and all the neighbors, and putting up signs, one neighbor heard from another neighbor that another neighbor was missing their dog after the storm. Whipper will be sibblingless again soon when the owners get off work and I am certian she prefers it that way. Oh, his real name turns out to be Major - no wonder he never answered to Big Red.

Kev I would post a pic of my drive but now I'm embarssed unless I called it the rustic version of yours.

Yesterday was a good day for viewing Canyonlands NP. Lots of pictures of great views. Hard to pick one. So here is one of Shafer Trail. Specks on right side of tail are bike riders.

You must have been at or near Dead Horse Point, Ron. I think it was in '03 that a pair of buddies and I rode round the White Rim Trail, which the Shafer meets there in the background. We took two days to do the loop, and at the start of the first day the bicyclists going in our direction were full of all sorts of vim and vigor, but the ones coming from the other direction looked like hammered dog meat. Made me very glad to be on a motorcycle, but by the end of the first day I was pretty hammered myself from all the rough rock and deep sand.

AdBlocker+ is on the job here, too, Drew. I've been watching the evolution of those three wheelers for some time, as one of these days I won't have the balance or leg strength to stay on two wheels. But it seems to me they unite the worst of both worlds: All of the weather exposure and lack of crash protection from motorcycling, with none of the dynamic thrill that leaning over on two wheels brings. If I'm going to give that up I'll take a Miata or some such open top car and keep some of the automotive fringe benefits, thanks. :D

If that happened on a Kubota, all the Kubota apologists would be dog piling on that post, making noises that the failures were the operator's fault. But I can't see how it can't be a design fault: If the links and stressed members of the 'hoe can't take all conceivable forces that the hydraulics are capable of developing, it's a bad design. Especially in this day and age of CAD, where simulations can accurately predict all of those stresses and the strengths of the materials are very well documented.

I agree. After having a John Deere G-245 tractor style we looked at John Deere Z800 series zero turn mowers. Our dealer had Z820A demo with 60" 7 Iron deck and only 25 hours. Price was almost $1.5K less than a brand new one. I had never even sat on a ZT before so I got on it and tried to maneuver around dealer's lot. I looked like a goof as I almost ran into a full size tractor. My bride had driven them before and got on and drove it like a pro. She was sold and we made the deal on the demo. Dealer changed oil and installed all new filters before we picked it up.

I really like how well the ZT mows. It has 745 hours now.

I got to agree with you on that RNG. He used to have a 963 Bobcat, his T190 is a small machine compared to the 963. Would hate to see what that would of done to the hoe. From what I could tell is the stress on the bucket pin was so hard that it tried to and did turn the pin, snapping the pin retainer and allowed the pin to come out of one side. That is when the link let loose. As for the bucket, where the bucket is pined to the boom and the cylinder pushes it to curl in is just not strong enough to handle the pressure the cylinder will provide if the bucket can't move something it is engaged with in the dirt, like maybe a huge rock. Titan said they would replace the link and pin and pin locks when he called them yesterday afternoon. It was only after he made the call that I pointed out the bucket was bent as well. I don't know if he has called them or not. But sure seems like a poor design. Maybe they should downsize the bucket cylinder some.

Here is what he has.

Dead Horse Point is a few miles away. Wish I had My Husqvarna 400 Endura bike to ride the trails. Maybe I should think about a Jeep at my age. Sure are a lot of them around here. You can rent a fully off-road equipped one here for a week for about $1k. Not bad when you consider what it cost to buy one. Just do not expect that kind of price during Jeep Week.

Did you say something? LOL

If so, half of us have likely forgot it.
CRS

Planted stawberries and garlic today. Realized I had way too much stuff coming into a not big enough raised garden so filled about six big planter pots with soil, and will grow veggies on the back deck also. Easier to water... Now where to put the eggplant and artichokes. I like the look of eggplants but don't like to eat them. Happy to give them to those who treasure them. Artichokes, never raised those before.
Have no idea what they look like.
