Dave, I'm impressed you have both a welder and an oxy cutter and know how to use them.
My two year old inverter welder has never been plugged in (very soon actually) and I'd land in the next county if I tried to use a big tank setup. So much to learn.
Lots of you, including our well know fabricators, have such amazing fix it talent. Guys like Farmer who can't wait for the service truck to show up when 50,000 chickens are at stake. Sometimes the operation has just got to go on and if you don't know how to do it, you are paddling without an oar...in front of the falls.
Always wise to keep a spare oar. Or a blower motor. Or harvester parts. Or a solar panel part when you are far up a mountain, even in Paradise. Spare parts desire...likely a common pull around here.
I used to be able to make simple welds pretty well, then I didn't touch a welder for about 20 years and got rusty. The OA torch is one of those things that is very handy to have around too. When you need a welder or torch, you need 'em, period.
