Good morning!!!!

67 out this AM. Like Drew and Buppies, I am hurting for rain. Missed the boomers that swung North of us last night. Today in the afternoon we are hoping for some more. Some front is expected to bring a cool down this week. We shall see.

A/C still down, Thursday looks to be the new install date.

Worked on some rooms this w/e. Painted and hung some "old" closet, real wood doors we rescued. Only one kid left, so once she goes, her room is next. Yippie!

Not much yard work going on with the heat and humidity. We are in mid-summer form here.

Have a great day all.

Mornin Ya'll, woke up to 68 with a high of 94 comin. Well I got another pile of trees burned yesterday so the pit is now ready for another load. We got a lot of noise and light from last nights storm, but not a drop of rain. They say there is a 60% chance the rest of the week. I would love to put fertilizer on the back pasture but not without a better chance of rain, don't want to burn it out.

45F high touch 50 another good of soaking rain. :)
Had hopes of splitting stacking last cord of wood today before going back to work tomorrow...but that's okay.
Guess I'll just do some puttering.

Enjoy vacation David.

Enjoy the day all.

57F with a mix of clouds and sun. A stray thunderstorm is possible. High around 80F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph.

Radar is showing showers to the west, probably all my fault because I power washed the RTV bed yesterday, removed it from the vehicle, and have it setting on saw horses ready for painting. Which looks like will be delayed due to the wind and/or rain. :(

Good luck with the move, Mostly. I don't drink coffee, but Starbucks has free wifi :D

Gary, sounds like your one of those folks that would wear shorts all year round if you could get away with it. Out here the UPS drivers can and do, even when temps dip down into the 30s. :confused2: Sometimes long pants aren't even enough when you're welding if a stray spark catches the fuzz in the worn spots on fire

Moss, hope you enjoy the beach and time with your kids.

Kev, sure wish I could fire off a pile or two here, but the grass is so dry I'm afraid to even run a weed eater.

Finished up the tail gate on the RTV yesterday, then put the forks back on the tractor to pull the bed. Sure nice to be rid of all the slop in the FEL, and managed to get it off without breaking anything.

Hope everyone has a good week!

I have checked every calendar in the house, every phone, every computer, turned on the tv. Yep they all agree it's June 1. My only concern is that it's 61 currently and headed to 69 today. That's not a KY June. Oh well I'm not complaining just trying to make sure I didn't take an extra long nap. And it's now October. What happened to global warming?

.13 inches of rain last night another line moving in in about an hour. Have a load of cattle to haul this morning then back to work in chicken coops.

46 and sunny with a high of 64 Today.I have two Guys coming to take down some pretty good sized Trees Today.

   / Good morning!!!! #34,509
Hanging around 50F today with rain showers. Scratch yesterday, today and tomorrow from the growing season count. :D

A haircut and diesel fuel are on my list this morning. I should put some ads on craigslist too for stuff that is just taking up space in the garage.

Happy moving Mostly_gas. You know the old saying, "three moves are as good as a house fire."

Good Morning. 0830, sunny, 74F with 94% humidity. Forecast high of 83F with 60% of thunderstorms today, and a low of 69F tonight. I got out a couple of hours ago to turn on the soaker hoses. As soon as I get done here, I have cucumbers and purple hull peas to pick. {I grabbed the few squash when I was out earlier} Just a few more days on the sweet corn.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Larro

Good morning! 73˚ no rain clear skies!

I'm still in awe, not with the clear skies but with the events of this weekend.
Yesterday day it was 48˚
Through, what I can describe only as fate, I found myself over the weekend (as the only non-medical professional) at a Cardiovascular Summit in Chicago.

I thought now I can find out the lastest in treating cardiovascular disease.

NO DRUG COMPANY SPONSORED THIS SUMMIT - this was very important! It was put together by Rush University Medical Center.

I sat through the the lectures by some of the most distinguished people in Cardiovascular care.

I Learned all about advance knowledge in the angiogenesis of plaque formation and the critical role of nutritional intervention. Also how to save the endothelial cells of the heart.

Dr. Kim Allan Williams was also there among many others and explained the new non-cholesteral diet guidelines by the government (since he was on the board)- apparently the criteria was only studies over 500 people were considered and the lack of studies over 500 left the board with not enough studies to give a dietary recommendation one way or the other. However all his experience and research of himself and others left him with no doubt that it is all about the diet and cholesterol does play a role. Its all about Nutritional intervention.

While all of the Dr's present agreed that they can sometimes reset the progression of heart disease by stents and by-passes they have done the repeated procedures on most of their patients which has proven this is only a small temporary delay. There was a lot of frustration in the room that not enough is being done to promote the only thing that will stop the progression in of heart disease in 99% of patients. Diet. A diet that is whole food, plant based with no added oils.

Don, Doctors don't make their living off of healthy people. There is no profit in that. But if folks do start eating right and doing a little exercise, there will be no SS left for us. Even with the cost of health care, they are saving us money in the long run.

I am of the belief that genetics pre-disposes one to fate. Diet and Exercise are of course very important, but how one body reacts to input is really a mystery at the genetic level.
And genetics have a history of their own, being passed on or past over from generation to generation.

Sounds like a passionate argument for a vegetarian diet. Did you come away with pointers to any specifics? Foods to avoid, recommended daily intakes, etc.?

And where does cactus beer fit into such a diet? :D:laughing:

The doctors were of the belief that heart disease is a food born disease. The Genetics can be overcome with proper diet.

Exactly, this was a group of doctors that were passionate about their patients. There was discussions about how prescribing this diet by education (exactly how diet cures) and time spent with patients can be reimbursed by insurance and medicare. Actually a cure instead of treating the symptoms. I was encouraged by their passion for a cure. They realize that there is not enough Obama care money to continue the expensive treatment of the symptoms when there is a simple but hard alternative.

same could be said for cigarette smoking and the problem is even with knowledge, people do what they do...
