What did you do to scarify the seeds? The clovers here have very hard seed coats. If they aren't mechanically scarified then they need to run through the stomach of an animal in order to germinate.

That little memory bell started dinging away when I read your post. I do recall studying this at one point in my life.

Don, you may find this of interest. http://scialert.net/fulltext/?doi=rjss.2012.38.50&org=10

Basically, it reads that no single scarification method works consistently among legume species. A specific search for your clover might turn up the preferred scarification method. If not, looks to me that baking in the oven at 175F (80C) for an hour would be a good start. (Double check the time, I was speed reading the article).

Sounded like the only sure method was thru trial and error measuring germination rates. Good luck!!

Good evening all. 55F this morning got to 70F and cloudy. Low chance of rain today but supposed to have 2-3 inches of rain before the week is over. Chance of rain every day this week, should start mowing, but will be wet most of the week. Garage is cleaned up, need to clean up back shed and the closed in breezeway.

34 right now and a bit slick outside (just let the dog out to pee and I went out with her). A touch of frozen rain...might be a slow drive in today.
The high will be just under 50, so the sleet should be gone pretty soon.

The mist is much thicker this morning, I think we will declare it a full fog.

Introduced K32 to Iseki. They seem to be getting on fine.

Wow, beautiful and large. Did you not have any animals eat off your food plot?

Turkeys and deer, but this plot is up by the road, so not as much activity on this one. Lots of bees and butterflies. :)
