68F and partly cloudy @ 06:00 ...
Got the Robinson and Profusion Crabapples planted yesterday ... these went in the backyard (the Redbud and Kousa Dogwood were planted in the front) ... Cupcake would starve as a landscaper ... unless being paid by the hour ... lol ...
Almost out of 2 year-old compost ... so last year's pile will need screened and then tarped.
After we finished with planting the trees, we cleaned off the MMM and greased it and she finished mowing the lower front yard and I raked out the topsoil around the catch basin at the bottom of the lower front yard and seeded it. It was almost dark after that, but I was able to get upper front yard about 80% mowed, under the lights.
I still have some filling in to do around the catch basin in the upper front yard, on the other side of the road/driveway, before I can rake it out and seed it.
Rain/thunderstorms are not due in until this afternoon, around 15:00 ... so with any luck I'll at least be able to get the leaves picked up before it starts getting wet. Leaves are about 95% down at this point ... the only things still holding on to them are mostly the oaks and the odd maple here and there.
Hoping we don't get much in the way rain this afternoon ... supposed to be dry for the next several days after that and I have a bunch transplanting that I'd like to get done ... there's probably at least a dozen oak trees that have to be removed (next to foundation, under power lines, etc) - including one which is probably 15' tall with a 4" to 5" trunk which is under the power wires next to the pole with the transformer ... I'm going to give it a shot as far as transplanting them ... I'd be pleased if 50% of them survive the process.
Hope every one has an enjoyable and productive day.
