44 with rain moving thru the area today with a high of 58.It a inside the house day.

Cut some persimmon seeds open the other day. They all had spoons in them.
Spoons??? Please explain. 45F, partly sunny and breezy today, mid-50's. Our chance of snow is Sunday. Two-three years back we had 8" of wet snow on Halloween but that's unusual.
There is an old folk lore. I guess you would call it, that says persimmon seeds can predict the coming winter.
A fork is a warm winter.
A knife is a cold winter.
A spoon is a snowy winter.

I've never lived within the natural range of persimmon so unless someone plants it, it isn't seen much here. There are a few varieties of Zone 4 hardiness American Persimmon that people can try here apparently.
