36F headed to mid-50's today. Yep Buppies, the nor'easter is coming they say. 100% chance of rain Wed-Thur with NNE winds. Wet but nothing serious here inland. Depending on the tides some coastal beach erosion and rocks tossed on the shoreline roads is always possible.

Guess I should work on trees and firewood today.

Got a bit of painting done yesterday afternoon, and then went for two hours up a tree with my bow until dark. First time I've hunted on a Sunday...it just became legal in Virginia this year, and I haven't had a real desire to do it. But, oh so nice in the autumn woods.

47F and cloudy @ 05:15 ... with a high of 60F predicted, along with some rain showers later in the day.

Didn't make it up to the shop last night ... fell asleep instead ... it's all good though, as now I'm on a daytime schedule ...

Noticed yesterday while picking up leaves the birds have cleaned out all the feeders that had black oil sunflower seeds in them ... so they'll have to be filled.

Think I'm probably gonna work on getting a little firewood cut as well ... at least to the extent of getting enough cut to last the next few days.

Current forecast sez chances for precipitation are low from Wednesday thru this coming Monday ... which would be really nice, in terms of getting outdoor stuff ready for winter.

Might even get a chance to use that shrub bucket to get some transplanting done ...

Drinking first cup of coffee. 45° with rain this morning. Heading to 57° with chance of rain all day. My Uncle that lives in Oregon is flying in today. It's off to airport to pick him up. Should be a good time visiting with him and my aunts next 2 weeks.

Between you, Drew, Don, and Bup I've probably got my hands full ... :laughing:

My older son and DIL use a Red Max backpack blower for leaves. City lot, no handy composting space or woods to dump stuff in. The leaves get put into paper sacks for pickup at the curb.

I raked to a tarp and used a push vacuum/shredder if the leaves were dry enough. That wasn't too bad, it just got heavier to push as it filled. And, the opening on the bag was too narrow to just dump out the shredded leaves. They had to be dug out by hand until it was half empty.

Yeah ... had to do a little bit of that digging stuff with pitchfork on the Trac-Vac yesterday ... wasn't too bad (dry leaves) ... it's the heavy, wet grass that's usually a real problem.

If the grass gets long enough that it has to be picked up, I usually try and cut it and blow it into windrows and let it bake in the sun to dry it out before picking it up.

But that only works when it's dry and sunny ... wet Spring weather can be a problem.

Know what you mean about hard to use equipment. Sometimes I wonder if the designers ever really tried out what they built. Ergonomic design is an art form really from architecture to machinery.
