Good evening. 2050, 62F with 92% humidity. Forecast low of 54F tonight, and a high of 83F tomorrow.

The rain cleared up around noon today, and I didn't get wet at all doing my shopping. One of the things I bought was gas at $2.959 per gallon. I heard a report that the low oil price was causing havoc in the stock market. {the kind in NYC, not in Texas. I don't think Don has to worry about folks giving up meat}

Drew, you lead an adventurous life. Just calm down for a few days. Let someone else have some of the excitement.

Checking in here. Thought I'd post a pic of my painting costume, but discretion is the better part of valor. Especially since I am using my wife's IPad, she really wouldn't want that on here!

Drew, look up threads on here for attachment dollies. A afternoon cobbling up something can save you a lot of physical stress. And this from a guy who is a bit lazy!!!! :)

Larro, There is actually a cattle shortage in this county. The number of sells at the local stock yards are down 90% and the prices for the calves have doubled. There is plenty hay and grass and the ranches are not selling but building their herds after three years of drought. This is creating a shortage so the price jumps. You are correct Larro, I'm not loosing any sleep over any one going to a plant based diet - they would not know where to find their protein. Ha Ha.

People always talk about buying products made in the USA. So what if they separated the gasoline pumps - one from production in the US and one from production from the opec countries. Would people still buy the USA gasoline for a higher price because it cost more to frack the land and make deeper longer wells? Or would they be Walmartist and buy the cheapest? Things I pondered while grappling today. . . .

My experience is that most folks, especially those with money, will go for the cheapest item every time. It's just human nature. Years back, I was the designated guy to go collect for the flower fund, when somebody at work got sick or had a loss in their family. I found that the lowest paid folks were the most generous, they had empathy for others. Many of the higher paid, better educated managers were cheap beyond belief. A lot of folks only care about their own, if something isn't going to benefit them or their family directly, they want no part of it.

I guess the short answer is that Walmart doesn't overestimate their customers.....

72 degrees at 6am, my is it warm out but soon the rains will start, they predict about an inch. Taking a while to get here, some showers overnight. Going to 77 today.

yes for sure to dollies Irv. There are some beauties made here, genuine TBN US made dollies. Actually until I get my new storage barn with a concrete floor, not sure how much wheeling around I'm going to do. But my goal/dream is to have all the implements lined up on a concrete floor, so I can back up to them or at least get close and roll the implement up to where I have some chance of the quick hitch getting the job done. Quick Hitch. Now there's an oxymoron most of the time.
Not from my experience. Just try to line up and slide in the pto assembly when it's slightly off center. Yeah, quick and easy.
Well, at least coming off it sure is easier...sometimes. And I keep it lubed. Nature of the beast I suppose.

Going to work inside today in the rain, but tomorrow going to walk my orchard field with a tape measure, lay out some lines, keeping some arbitrary number of feet off the fence line. The fence looks straight, so shall be the lines of trees or at least they will all be consistent. Thinking three rows of trees but I'm not sure where to put the crabapples, inside the other two trees or outside; not sure how the pollen gets around, though maybe it's not too critical. That issue, and others, I will bring up when I go down later this week to the ag extension agent right here in town. I've been reading articles online on planting and maintaining orchards, but talking to a real person should help. Just hope he knows a lot about apples and peaches.

I ordered a pretty good sized sprayer from Northern Tools, the pull behind one with the Honda engine and the 55 gallon tank, which will put out 150psi for a good atomized spray pattern that won't damage the flowering trees yet can be used for other things, like a thirty plus foot boomless spray capability out the back. That should do a weed and feed pretty quickly even on a big lawn. I studied every sprayer TSC and AgriSupply had, and each had its own set of compromises, good on this but not on that. So I got the larger sprayer that hopefully will do whatever I want long term.
