72 degrees at 6am, my is it warm out but soon the rains will start, they predict about an inch. Taking a while to get here, some showers overnight. Going to 77 today.
yes for sure to dollies Irv. There are some beauties made here, genuine TBN US made dollies. Actually until I get my new storage barn with a concrete floor, not sure how much wheeling around I'm going to do. But my goal/dream is to have all the implements lined up on a concrete floor, so I can back up to them or at least get close and roll the implement up to where I have some chance of the quick hitch getting the job done. Quick Hitch. Now there's an oxymoron most of the time.
Not from my experience. Just try to line up and slide in the pto assembly when it's slightly off center. Yeah, quick and easy.
Well, at least coming off it sure is easier...sometimes. And I keep it lubed. Nature of the beast I suppose.
Going to work inside today in the rain, but tomorrow going to walk my orchard field with a tape measure, lay out some lines, keeping some arbitrary number of feet off the fence line. The fence looks straight, so shall be the lines of trees or at least they will all be consistent. Thinking three rows of trees but I'm not sure where to put the crabapples, inside the other two trees or outside; not sure how the pollen gets around, though maybe it's not too critical. That issue, and others, I will bring up when I go down later this week to the ag extension agent right here in town. I've been reading articles online on planting and maintaining orchards, but talking to a real person should help. Just hope he knows a lot about apples and peaches.
I ordered a pretty good sized sprayer from Northern Tools, the pull behind one with the Honda engine and the 55 gallon tank, which will put out 150psi for a good atomized spray pattern that won't damage the flowering trees yet can be used for other things, like a thirty plus foot boomless spray capability out the back. That should do a weed and feed pretty quickly even on a big lawn. I studied every sprayer TSC and AgriSupply had, and each had its own set of compromises, good on this but not on that. So I got the larger sprayer that hopefully will do whatever I want long term.
