Amazing, colder in south Texas than Maryland. 49 here, but going to low 80's.

72 degrees at 6am, my is it warm out but soon the rains will start, they predict about an inch. Taking a while to get here, some showers overnight. Going to 77 today.

yes for sure to dollies Irv. There are some beauties made here, genuine TBN US made dollies.
Drew, dollies are nice for general movement and storage but for many implements I think some form of hanging does a great job.

I kept my PHD on a chain under pallet racking. I could back back my tractor up to it and with a nudge of my hip it would swing.
Actually until I get my new storage barn with a concrete floor, not sure how much wheeling around I'm going to do. But my goal/dream is to have all the implements lined up on a concrete floor, so I can back up to them or at least get close and roll the implement up to where I have some chance of the quick hitch getting the job done.
Just having them on dollies and pallets is a great help. I'm not much for custom built dollies for heavy equipment. Harbor freight used to put mover dollies on sale for about $7, I can usually get pallets for free. I put my chipper on a heavy duty pallet which in turn rested on 2 HF moving dollies. Fairly easy to push around on a CLEAN floor.

Quick Hitch. Now there's an oxymoron most of the time.
Not from my experience. Just try to line up and slide in the pto assembly when it's slightly off center. Yeah, quick and easy.
Well, at least coming off it sure is easier...sometimes. And I keep it lubed. Nature of the beast I suppose.
JD made/makes one that hooks up the PTO.

in my "dream" barn I 'm going to have an overhead hoist, and yes to moving dollies, I have one heavy duty metal one, a home made one plus a few of the HF cheapies that work fine on very smooth surfaces.

I'd like a hoist I could drive under, say a two ton, that would pick up mowers, whatever.
Maybe I could hang upside down from it and it would straighten up my back...

Yes, hoists are indispensable for heavy items. Inclined planes are nice but when the mass approaches half a ton sometimes it's difficult to control by one old person.
I can back my F350 or trailer under mine and easily offload some big items by myself.

Good morning! 57˚ bright clear skies.

I working on my "Driveway with a view of the pond" project.
From my driveway, all I could see was a mesquite forest but there's a nice pond beyond the mesquite.

Project Plan

1. Clear a wide strip of mesquite from the driveway to the pond, so pond is in sight
2. Remove thorns from berm area, So I can get the tractor in
3. Remove berm in front of pond so water is visible
4. plant winter rye grasses.

I'm on step 3. I used my grapple as a rake to breakup the berm yesterday and that worked out good.

Today I'll switch buckets and move the berm. The berm has nothing to do with water flow it was just the spoils of a bulldozing cleaning project 10 years ago.

This should be illegal, it's too much fun!

I'll grab a few pics later.

55 this morning and headed to 56 today. Nice warm up (roll eyes). Rain right now then turning spotty. Phone man out working on Internet. DSL just stopped working Sunday.

Birds got outta here fine last night. So now the work begins. Power upgrade next week so maybe no more melted meter bases.

Drew you could always add a floor to the new shed. Would give you some options until new barn it built.

Good day all.
