So... The dogwoods were both small, short, twisted, and at least one of them had bugs, plus I have no wood carving skills worthy of mention. They did make it into the burn piles though...
As for today, it rained etc. but I WORKED for the first time since May! I started my part time self employed gig doing "Business Development" for a decent sized Federal Govt. contractor firm. Looks like they will be helping me even more as they have picked up at least part of my govt. clearances which is awesome help.
I just have to say it felt so good to be the new guy at work, to have to go figure out a new email system, and get in-briefed, etc.
I've missed working...
Not sure how many hours I can get each week, but it is WAY better than unemployment or night security guard (which I've applied for and might get).
There is a dim flickering of what MIGHT be light at the end of my tunnel and I appreciate all of you guys for all your support and encouragement.

Thank you. It is VERY part time. At the moment it is 150 hours over 8 months, but he said he can get more in 150 hour chunks, but it is NOT full time and I'm self employed so no benefits etc. and I won't actually get paid for like 60 days, but it was GREAT to be at work and working again, even if just for 5 hours or so...

Good to here moss. Welcome to the self-employed club. Being self-employed has lots of perks and expenses. So don't forget all the expenses that come with it. As it will help in other areas also.

Volcano action is about an hour drive south of us, other side of Hilo and slopes of Mauna Loa. we are on slope of Mauna Kea. We are Risk area #8 I believe, #9 is safest, #1 most vulnerable.

Good evening, have returned from my vacation, was gone to Europe on a cruise. Great time seeing all the sites. On a sad note, my mother passed away on the 31st of August while I was in Europe and I only found out about it upon my return home on the 7th of September. Had the funeral today, she was 82 and is now reunite with my father in heaven.
