Drank my coffee for the day early this morning. It was 36° with frost in some areas with clear skies. Heading 53° degrees with rain possible this afternoon. Visiting friends in Grass Lake, MI. Good day to sit inside and visit.

It poured here all night and is still raining. The beavers dam is a roaring cascade, and the pond is within 2" or less of cresting my dam.

But the house smells clean from rain smell, and the basement is dry still.

I have to go North in terrible traffic to turn in my laptop, corp AmEx and badge... Sigh... Sometimes life sucks, but God has a plan and it is a good one, I just need to get onto it.

boy did we just get a soaking rain, with a little reprieve now, it got lighter outside, radar shows a pocket of clear but we aren't done yet.
It's Friday afternoon, and any of the guys with bigger boats at the Jersey shore probably snuck down early to the "branch office".
And boy are they getting a hosing right now. The rain is pounding the NJ shore area and all those guys sitting in their Oceans and Vikings
in Brielle, and looking out their windows at the deluge, well they are not happy campers. They want to be up in the flybridge opening those vinyl curtains, not hunkered down below hearing the loud drumming of rain on fiberglass. The seas are running high so it's going to be dock party night at the marinas.
Once it stops raining, and that's not for awhile.

All those years of driving down to the Chesapeake to get on the boat for the weekend, and when driving down in the rain it was a quiet glum ride.
I wonder what all the guys with motorcycles think/feel when the forecast for the weekend is bad. All those go/no go quandaries. If you are going to be outside, you are going to do it at Mother Nature's pleasure....

Once this system finishes looks like we will have a nice weekend. Mud has been disallowed for the weekend.

I found a nice bunch of morel mushrooms in my yard. Joanie cooked them up in some butter, salt, garlic. Served with a small steak, and a salad. Very nice dinner. No ice cream for this guy anymore. Too much sugar.
