It is a learning experience that takes years.find the biggest parking lot that is empty and do donuts and see how to correct yourself in a slide.

Back when we had clay roads I was pretty good with slides. With rear wheel drive you would turn into the slide. The clay roads have been gone for years, so I don't know what a front wheel drive would do. But I have heard that for most folks the front wheel drive is better in the snow. As long as you have enough ground clearance.

Thats is a fact Larro also anti lock breaks help if you start to go in to a spin, tap break and it straightens right out.

sodamo 61F Now let's get to the important stuff. So what temperature is the hot tub?[/QUOTE said:
Trying for 95, but raining to hard today. I still have some electrical work yet. At this point, taxing on my off grid system, so not turned on. I figure to further void the warranty by putting together a solar HW and plumbing that to the spa and add some more PV panels.

This was posted on You Tube by one of the guys I know from Tomahawk Nation. Kind of funny if you like dry humor.

-8 right now...definitely a bitter chill. High will be 16 degrees.

For you guys not used to driving in the snow...I have a few rules:
If conditions require 4WD, I maintain about 35 MPH. I'll have more time to react if I do slide (and 4WD vehicles surely do slide) and hopefully, recover. You might be late, but you'll likely get there.
Do not use overdrive and sometimes shift to a lower gear.
Use engine braking as much as possible.
And NEVER...NEVER stop when going up a hill!

You can't do anything about other drivers, but just let 'em by if they're in a hurry.

Good rules, Roy

Especially the last. Just before I retired, stationed in No Va. They got a pretty good storm and the government announce lax reporting. Called my boss and told him, I wasn't coming in. His reply was, Why, not, you have a 4x4? Told him, my driving wasn't my concern, but they other idiots that didn't have a clue. I stayed home.
