Merry Christmas!!!! 0715, clear, 31* with 88% humidity. Forecast high of 57*. We have already had our gift exchange and main eating, but Margie is still cooking and we are having Mamma over for dinner.
30 years ago, right after I got home from the Navy, I had a few friends staying over for Christmas. I was living at the house by the pond then, and it is just a short walk through the woods to Uncle James' place. Since he was in North Georgia with his in-laws, and my pantry was bare, we walked over to make sure his collard patch didn't need cropping. {sure enough, it did} There was a huge coon in a big old oak tree who ran in a knot hole when we walked up. He wouldn't come out so we shot him in the knot hole. {it was a good thing Uncle James had a tall ladder} We got him out, but he ran in there a lot faster than he came out. So we had coon and collards for Christmas Dinner that year. As hard as it is to believe, some how that tradition never caught on at the Larro Ranchero.
Merry Christmas everyone.
