Sorry about your pup Bubba. My golden died of cancer about 10 years ago. I know how that hole in your heart feels. So far, I've only replaced him with 3 blonde rugrats that happen to be my kids.

I spent thousands for my dog's health care in the last few years of his life I think over $7500 or so. I can't afford that now and so that's why I haven't replaced him. I want a breed similar to a golden but with no hereditary problems. I just don't know if one exists.

Golden doodles may be the answer a cross between standard poodles and our beloved golden retrievers no shedding and perhaps no cancer. Last two dogs we had a golden and standard poodle both died last year one 12 years old one 13 years old, golden died of cancer, poodle spine degeneration

I'm 5 months into my lifestyle mod - refuse to even attempt "dieting"
Progress Report: Down over 40 lbs, just over 14%. About half way to where I would like. Wife is also doing well, down 13% over same time frame.

Thanks I just can't stand getting the gout and my insulin dosages are decreasing every other day at least until numbers level off from these low numbers that are showing up now

The event was a child's birthday party. They had just made the reservation last week and hadn't paid the deposit or signed the contract. I would not have gone in to work today, but I needed to finish cleaning up from the wedding last night. For small afternoon events like that, the deposit is only $30 anyway. Before we raised the rent from $15 to $25 per hour on the smaller rooms, the idea was for the deposit to cover two hours of rent, which is the usual length. Our night time deposit is $200, but we only keep $30 of it if people don't give us a month notice when they cancel. We need to raise the smaller deposit to $50, and let that be the amount they forfeit.

Thanks, guys! I told my wife about the support you guys have given me, and she was amazed. So am I!!! We are seeing Sydney, his daughter in a new light. She used to follow his lead in reacting to strangers, of any species. Bubba never met a stranger, he was all wiggle butt with everybody, very outgoing. Sydney, in her first outing without her dad, wanted to tear into 2 other dogs today, and barked at strangers. At 80 lbs, she is pretty intimidating. Strange in how they are father and daughter, and raised as pups in the same home, they are so different. She is sleeping right next to me, on the couch. She even keeps the cats away. Bubba used to let the cats sleep on his back!

I am going to put some postholes in for a friends deck, being built by another friend. This is the 4th tractor job in the neighborhood in the last few weeks. Nice to get some seat time.

I got a little over 2 hours on the tractor today.

I groomed 1/2 mile of gravel with the RatchetRake, and I started on the massive bush hogging project where everything has been totally let go... I got a trail cut in the 6-7' tall weeds back to the forest and trails, and I started clearing the gun range area at the edge of the "future pasture" section.

66 this morning with a high of 84 today but tomorrow thru Thursday highs in the 90s then big cool down for weekend with highs maybe only in 60s. Working local today so no interstate. Good morning

39 degrees this morning, but a warm up starting today and we will be back in the 80's tomorrow.
Apples are ready to pick mostly Macs now but a true sign of New England Autumn for sure!

Fresh pot of coffee is brewing. 56° with clouds and light rain this morning. Heading to 80° with thunder storms throughout the day. Going to do some tourist things with my sister today.
