Y'all boys up north don't know nary humidity. Speaking of which, humidity is going down around here since yesterday. Feeling a heap better outside. Now, I'm wondering how our hurricane season will be.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to say, but have been in New Orleans in the summer, and humidity is humidity. And right now I am slightly more humid than Atlanta :D

They are gonna dump several rip-rap loads on a deep ditch off the road into my property to stop erosion. That, alone, will be worth $$$. Also, no tax increase because of the Barnett Shale gas drilling. Our county has made so much in taxes off of the Barnett Shale natural gas that they are paving all county roads. Our energy resources are improving life for everyone in the county.

Watch the seped of the cars going by your house once it is paved. Found the speed on my road go way up once we went from gravel to tar & chip.

Roy, Thanks for the VC stove info. I'll definitely use it.

And, my stove is actually 32 years old and has served well with no problems until this past year.

I'd highly recommend them. Sorry to hear about your situation.

I know it's summertime in Missouri when I step out of the AC into the sauna we call outdoors and my glasses instantly fog over. Same thing happens when we vacation at the beach along the Emerald Coast of Florida...except up here there isn't that pleasant sea breeze :)

Mostly Gas is correct, we have the humidity too!!

"Keeps needing parts"??? That stove is 32 years old.

So, why do you hate your stove?

I agree with Roy name something else you own that is 30 odd year old and needs parts! We run our stove at home all winter and stay very warm. Like anything else there is annual maintenance to keep it working properly. I like the defiant mainly for the ash pan and ease of emptying. I guess it is a case of each to his own!

Thats the point with vermont castings. If it keep needing parts to keep it going why have a VC? I hate mine. It came with the house and will most likely replace it.

What model VC do you have? I have known people that have problems running a VC stove but never to the point that they hate it. Let me know when you get ready to replace it.

Depmandog, I was in Panama City this past Sunday and I think I saw you with three of your friends. It looks like you are getting a little gray in your beard.

It was nice of you trying to keep that girl from overexposing herself, like that.
