Drew not an expert on this product but the porous asphalt is placed on eight inched of 57 stone with a drainage system under that to remove the water. The freeze thaw cycle that we have teens to fortys will not affect it. This product is used all over the country. The asphalt is a virgin mix no recycled material in it at all. The stone is all number 8 in size no sand or fines and binder and because of the base(57s) it is placed with a tracked paver. It can only be rolled twice then final compaction with a plate tamper. Because of its porous nature water runs through it instead of over it and filters thru 57s to drainage system below

Our area is also known to get down as low as minus 12, the last time it did that was 1977 the year my lovely wife and I got married. Just seems like yesterday by the way

good morning got 1/4" of rain overnight and looks like more on the way. good day to pack bearings and replace starter on my old truck. we were going to the festival but weather to unstable and these storms are bad with lot of lightning. Buppies do you like the new asphalt or no? don't sound like it will work to well. i'm with Drew what is going to happen when the water freezes while in the asphalt? very interesting

Sam because it was new to the producer as well his paving crew and mine were put together as one large group. We layed the asphalt they ran the screws and rolled it. After the first rolling it looked like an ocean wave. The mix came to the job at 275 degrees which slightly cooler than normal. Temperature could not be hotter as it would wash or melt binder off of the number 8s. You and Drew make good points and I will ask that question today and report back with answer later on

We put down 125 tons of it so that's not really enough for me to have an opinion of it yet, time will tell if I get to install any more. For this provider he does not have a tracked paver so maybe

I got my rain yesterday afternoon and a 3 hour power outage to boot. 3/4" of rain for a 3-hr outage is not a bad trade. It's 73 F here this morning before 8 AM and is not supposed to get higher than 88 F all day. If that turns out to be true, it's a banner August day for sure.

0830, sunny 81 with 87% humidity. {Blountstown weather. I'm already at work} Forecast for a high of 93 with 50% chance of rain. No rain yesterday. First time in a while. If it doesn't do it today, I will have to remember to turn soaker hoses back on in the morning.

I've got two family reunions today, one black family and one white. But southern food is just about the same, whatever color the hands that prepare it. Look forward to sampling from both. One is for dinner, the other suppertime.

Also have Pee Wee football signups. Not looking forward to chasing the little hellions out of my flowerbeds.
