I had a rough night last night... According to my wife it is abusive to give my daughters flowers after they performed very well in their choir/symphony... This is AFTER Isat far away from wife and baby for the entire performance too... I believe I'm headed for the "Big D, and I don't mean Dallas..."

I slept in until 0600... It is raining. I've worked out, now I've got to do some real work...

70 F and muggy here this morning. I've got to start on my tomato trellis netting today. That means I also have to cultivate around each plant and mulch. I have 8 new Gilmour flat soaker hoses that were delivered last week and need put down too.

TxDon, my wildflowers are starting to take off. With the rains we've had in the last few weeks. The area south of Decatur on highway 287 is covered in indian blanket. Even the hillisides on the rolling prairie are also covered solid with IB and some are solid with Dakota vervain. That drive is breathtaking in places. I have lots of greenthread and purple coneflowers, but my foxglove is starting to fade. The bluebonnets weren't spectacular this year, but the yellows, pinks, and reds 'season' seems to be coming on strong since the rain.

Mostly sunny today with a high of 19C/66F.
Got a hired guy coming today to start my building project. First thing is to move about 3800 board feet of lumber I have been storing under the shed roof at the back of the chicken coop and then we will do a concrete pony wall around the 3 sides of the 12 X 28 ft building. Nice thing is we only need to build the 3 walls as the back of the chicken coop will be one wall and of course the roof is already in place. When finished we should be able to produce up to 100 meat birds per month.
In the picture it is the right side I am finishing as a building.

Where the he** did this cold weather come from!? Anyway, tired but happy to make progress on the deck.

Good morning all. Last check-in prior to 200 mile ride in the Flint hills this weekend. 50F going to 71F and sunny today. Yesterday high was 70F and rained last 10 miles of my ride. Forecast is for mid 80's winds under 20 precip 20% or less .
