38 degrees here and dry, wife and I stayed home last night, it has been close to 15 years since we have gone out for new years eve, we were in our mid-40's then with $$ and energy to burn and both working full time and overtime. Got a bunch of Facebook messages today that people sent me at midnight...guess I am supposed to be impressed they stayed up to ring in the new year.

Good morning all, HAPPY NEW YEAR. 40 here and going up to mid 70's today. Yesterday while working on my road grading project I had to use the A/C to help cool me down.......As for New Years Eve I was in bed by 9PM and never heard a sound.

Morning all and Happy New year. My wife and I stayed home last night also, of course we did, been on this stupid computer since 0600 this morning conversing with you kids. Been at least 25 years since we've gone out on New Years eve. Don't miss it, was in bed by 2130 and guess what, the new year came without me.

37 now going to high 60s again.
My plan for the day is to steam bend some skids for a Klondike sled I am building for my grandsons Boy scout post.

Well Happy Birthday!! I remember growing up the local paper would have a contest for the first baby of the New Year. Some years it was quite a haul in winnings (gifts).

The cold front passed through last night. Had some needed rain for a couple of hours. Will not see the mid 60's, but the mid 40's ......not going to do it, nope, not going to complain one bit.

My New Years resolution was to have no resolutions. So, it will be a first time in my life that I will have success with my resolution!! Ha!

Roy, I had no idea you were a New Year's Baby. Happy Birthday! I think I saw your party last night in Times Square.:laughing:

It's 33 F here and going to the upper 50s today. My cold got better yesterday and I was able to go out with my grandson and shoot off some fireworks last night to say goodbye to 2011. We are happy and thankful for all our blessings on this 1st day of 2012. I wish all of you continued good fortune and good health.
