Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #97,601
Drinking first cup of coffee. 64° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 85° with cloudy skies and PM thunderstorms. Got a few small projects done yesterday. Still need to put new filters in water garden. Not much else planned.
Well there is one project I need to do. Clean inside of windshield on both cars. Never comes out as clean as I would like. Seems to me this would be a good business opportunity for someone with long arms.

Don, good catch. You know it's all about the legs. :D

Bird, the weather in Michigan is about right for the month of August. Lows in the 50's and 60's. Highs in the 70's and 80's.

RNG, you must be taking something right to do all the hard labor projects you tackle without to much complaining.

Randy, Buckeye and others recovering continue on that path. Prayers sent.

Good Morning All.

Good Monday Morning. It's 77° and high humidity this morning. We're under a "heat alert" again today and forecast high is 102°. Supposedly the high pressure bubble, giving us all this heat, will move west in a day or two and get highs back to normal mid 90's.

I'm waiting on the exterminator to show up for our quarterly treatment, then on to mowing around the house with the ZT.

Maybe some window washing on our east porch this afternoon after it's out of the sun.

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Don, don't you get hot, wearing that Sherlock costume in a Texas summer ? View attachment 616768 :D

Don, good catch. You know it's all about the legs. :D

Good conclusion to the investigation Watson - Said in my best British accent.
(Mostly, you may want to rotate one of you pedals whenever taking a pic to get the best leg shot.:D)

Good morning! 80˚F heading to normal August high of 103˚F.

Whipper is very good on the leash EXCEPT when she freezes. A RV in the street, a work crew and trailer in the street, a flag flapping in the breeze, a garage door opening, a garbage can in the street - any thing that is usually not there requires a full stop for a long time while she tries to decide if she can safely walk past it.
I found an app that will snap her out of her freeze condition.
The Whip Sound App Original im App Store
it may sound cruel but no animals were hurt during the playing of the app.

Randy hope everything goes well and a plan for your fix and recovering start soon.

Mostly - during August in Texas you just can't go all out every day. You have to give you body time to get everthing back in balance with all the trace minerals that you loose. Take a few days off between rides in these 100 degree days.

Just read about an Ohio State U. study that finds a statistical link between statin use and Type 2 diabetes...3X more likely after 2 years of use. It looked at 4,600 men and women average age 46...but also says nothing has been proven definite, so don't stop taking them unless doc says okay.

Statins can also cause amnesia.

Jay, here is a short tube based on studies that can help you get motivated.

"Type 2 diabetes can be reversed with severe calorie restriction e¡there by surgery or starvation, but did you know it can also be reversed simply by eating healthier?"

74°F and thunder storms this morning, going up to 97° today.

First round of storms hit around 04:30 this morning, and the weather service was decent enough to alert our cell phones about 5 minutes later, waking us yet again. More storms predicted for later in the day as well. Wife just sent me pictures and a video of the local flooding. She had to cancel an early morning training because she can't get out to the highway.

On a related note, a trailer mysteriously appeared in our lower driveway sometime yesterday, containing some hose and a pump. The way the water is pouring out of the lake in the video she sent, I'm guessing the pump won't be used today. Good thing I got that grass cut Saturday.

Got all the grass cut Saturday afternoon. Would have preferred to do it in the morning, but had to shuttle the nephew to a mandatory class in Belleville.

Youngest step son was supposed to come over Sunday morning and do some paid work. His Mom told him to be there at 9 ... he showed up about 10:15. One thing he was supposed to do was clean up the bank on the ditch along the road in front of the house. I watched him for awhile as he spent most of his time walking around and tossing tools here and there. He left a couple of times, came back, and generally worked all of about 20 minutes all day. His Mom eventually went out and scolded him for the shoddy work (and for throwing our tools), so he left again. That boy never was interested in anything resembling hard work. Guess we'll have to do it ourselves next weekend. (sigh)

Congrats on selling the A, Drew.

Good to hear from you, Randy. 42 lbs is impressive. However, there must be better ways to lose weight. Best wishes for today.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Another pleasant 47ºF morning low with tolerable humidity; a mixed sun/cloud 75ºF presently with increasing humidity.; and I expect increasing clouds with an afternoon high temp ~80ºF. It looks like I will be getting some needed rain mid-week with a drier, less humid, sunny weekend. The coy-dogs/wolves were active last night; loud enough and close enough to wake me up. Brogen lays low when they around.;) Today the Tundra will be "hazmatted"; then shopping with Wifey :( and lunch out while the truck is being cleaned of bio-hazards.

If/When Brogen freezes I have about 1 second to redirect him or I may get a "Nantucket Sleighride." Luckily, I can see stationary objects at distance better than Brogen.

Don- Thanks for the link. I agree with you. I proved it to myself last year when I stopped all alcohol, red meats, and focused on anti-inflammatory foods and serious calorie counting dieting I had to reduce all my insulins as I was constantly hypoglycemic. The lowest recorded was a scary 28- I almost lost consciousness getting down from my hill with Brogen's help. I was down to a half doses of Lantus (long acting) and maybe one shot of Humulog (usually take 4 injections). My PCP and I were discussing the potential for stopping the insulins. I am seriously considering doing this again, but I would need to replace my dead Fitbit and restart my crazy (OCD) calorie counting. My scheduled "daily double" (colonoscopy-endoscopy) next month will definitely influence my decision.

I somehow contorted myself sufficiently to clean the Tundra's windshield w/o sustaining injury this weekend. I removed an impressive amount of dog hair; too bad I did not do this earlier in the year when the birds were more actively nesting. I find a lot of dog hair in the bird nests fond around here.

Randy- I hope to read a + post from you soon; good luck.

I hope that everyone is having a decent start to the workweek.

Randy, BEF, and Betty and all the rest dealing with challenges my + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
