A sunny 46ºF for today’s low. A beautiful sunny 78ºF for today’s high temperature. Some deer woke Brogen up ~4:30AM. The little bear woke me up ~5:30AM dragging the ashcan off the deck. He was unsuccessful at stealing bird food this time. Since I was up it was a good time to water the garden. Then walk the perimeter with Brogen. Later I spent 3 hours essentially recutting what I cut yesterday in 4 hours. This time I had the grass catcher on the mower to collect all the dried lawn clippings for mulching the garden. I have muscle groups and joints complaining about the 7 hours bouncing around mowing, but Happy Hour will “silence” the complainers.
Lynn- Thanks for sharing your “Winter” weather pics.
“…. Ahhh....New York.....I always enjoy the walks around the hospital seeing the people and the various eateries. Some fine sandwiches and interesting conversations in those little places.”- Mike. NYC is one of the few “Big Cities” that I enjoy visiting.
Happy Birthday to Kyle’s daughter.
Eric- In a way that bear did me a favor. Sunflower seeds are not as popular with the birds as they are during the Winter. We had consistent flocks of ~ 12 chickadees all Winter; now we have a pair of regular feeders.
Thomas- I really enjoy your sharing those moments of connecting to the native wildlife. Thanks.
RonJH- Nice sunrise picture. Thanks for sharing.
RNG- Your ongoing challenges with your utility company’s bottom line mindedness and CA state governments’s inaction boggles my mind. Our total electricity bill for last year was ~$34 thanks to our solar panels. We probably would have ended up with a credit if our propane fueled central heating had not failed during a subzero week. We really could not use our wood stove effectively due to my knee either. We resorted to heating our house with our 3 slimline mini splits.
Drew- I thought of you this PM when I found a tick setting up shop at the nape of my neck. I appreciate all the veggie pictures. Good luck with this round of Prednisone. I had/have a love-hate relationship with Prednisone. Despite all the permanent side effects, it did save my life. I still miss the energy and anti-inflammatory effects. I am sorry to read about your friend’s death and all of Miss Daisy’s losses. May your friend RIP.
