Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #183,541
We had a son in coma from OD for two weeks. Very difficult
He called wife last night talking about fentanyl and under the influence
Not knowing where he is and feeling very helpless wife is devastated. She did not get much sleep but sleeping now

Introduced wife to shooting back when we lived in Mohave and she loved the 22 pistol and was able to keep a can moving shot after shot
Fentanyl is of the devil. Hope your wife's talk reached deep in him. Change will have to come from within him, but outside influence plays a huge part.
So much of that drug is coming across the porous border on human mule teams.
Drew, sorry about the young man you lost in your life.
Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 24 to start going to 38 ! Lots of ice out there, but with the sun and some warmer temps this afternoon I hope to get rid of it ! Walked the DW carefully this morning to grab our paper !

Kyle, your daughter is not only a Great marksman but a very attractive young lady ! Congrats to her on that fine looking buck ! I also am a Remington 1100 guy ! Shot skeet for many years ! I used to own my own reloaders but I sold them when I wasn’t shooting anymore !

Mostly, prayers to you and family ! 🙏
Wagtail, ditto to you and your family ! 🙏
Helo, I can picture your dog with the medicinal whiskey drum around his neck rescuing me from the cold ! 😉

Hope Al have a great day !
Thank you Scott and LS125 for the kind comments.
My former roommate would load a 5 gallon bucket of skeet shells. It is easier to clean an over/under, he had a ruger red label. But I've shot 3 birds with 3 shots and he hasn't. RNG, that loader might be a good one.
Good Morning
36° and going to 40 under a cloudless sky.

Yesterday, I got the finish on the speaker, the driveway plowed and the walks shoveled. But not much else. I felt lousy and had chills. I didn’t stop to take my temperature until I was done, because I had a good idea what the result would be. Pretty much 101 all day and through the night. The fever has broken, but now my nose is running like a cheap faucet. Negative COVID. I was supposed to go to Florida today, but I took the day off.
I’ll probably go over to the shop and see if I can finish up the speaker, but no other plans.
Get better soon. Whatever I had/have, I did spend 2 days couch potato, if I had fever, it was so low I couldn't tell it. I'm still hacking and coughing too BEF.

I think one of the worst tortures is to be stuck in a power point presentation with lots of text, that you've been sent out ahead of time to review,
and then the presenter goes over every single word, again. Truly some folks like hearing themselves talk...
And some didn't bother to open the file and read it prior to the meeting...

Happy hour sounds good Sodamo. A nice frosty barley pop! Seems like the women are kicking the men's rear at cards too often. I understand you have "to give to get"... :) Keep the wifey happy.

Prayers for our team, especially those with complications and for their medical staff to properly diagnose them. Prayers for our country, Ukraine and ******.

Hello, good morning !

That big cold is over. Only -3 C = 26 F. That's how perspective works. At beginning of autumn anything negative on gauge is like drama. Now, after we have got -30 lokking on -3 C, hohoho, it's warm 😁

No big plans for today. Something in office, but mainly will be taxidriver for kids. Have to bring one boy to dentist, later will pick them all from school, at evening - training

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Talked to son again.
Wife was happy he was ok. She had a long talk with him about what to do
.
:eek:Man, that's something you have to go trough... Sorry for you.
Stay strong
Scott
We tend to think of our happy hour group as our island family. Actually very little drinking. I had 2 beers this afternoon, as did a couple of the other guys, most of the wives hardly drink at home gatherings, maybe a wine for some, and several people don’t drink alcohol at all, but we ALL eat quite well.
Today was exceptional. One of the wives is Indian and took the time today to give an explanation of the various dishes and what they pair with. I didn’t try anything I didn’t like.
When we meet at restaurants we do so during Happy Hours to keep costs in check.
14° now, highs around 35° and cloudy with East winds 5-10 mph today. This evening starts with snow, changes to rain, winds ESE 20-30 mph gusts 40+ should prove interesting.
Yesterdays snow cleanup went well, perfect snow for snowblower, did 90% of driveway with the walk behind. I did use the tractor to clean up the windrow at the end of the driveway and pushed back the banks so tomorrow’s rain has someplace to drain to.
The plan for today is roof rake the snow off the oldest garden shed before the rain tonight/tomorrow, top off fuel in tractor and snowblower and run generator for a bit. Then feet up for the rest of the day.
Hope those dealing with the crud going around again get better
Prayers for all
Stay safe
Drinking first cup of coffee. 32° with light snow this morning. Heading to 41° with rain and wind. Put snow plow on tractor yesterday. Did some paint touchup on newer tractor. Got into recliner ready to watch Michigan Washington game on TV about 6:30. Woke up at midnight. Game over. Good News is Michigan won the Championship. :cool: Not sure what I will get into today. There is always shop and barn cleanup.
Mostly glad you are home.
31 outside right now, heading to mid 50's. Buckets of rain expected any minute, continuing throughout the day.
Better than snow, I guess.
Brought Dad home last night before he heads off to Arlington, sometime later this year.
Final farm tour.
Laptop decide to crash, windows unrecoverable. Bad hard drive...wow. Have not seen that in a long while.
Ordered new laptop, booted a Linux Mint image to get around the issue. Started recovery of anything and everything....
Sigh.....try getting into your browser password store, externally. LOL. Hint, it's encrypted with a Windows machine ID.
Guess I need to rethink using browser sync services. Or post-it note pads. Think I will stick with the local option.
Hope all fair well in the storm moving in and up the country......
   / Good morning!!!! #183,550
13F partly cloudy low 30's for high.
Nasty storm arriving around 5pm 4-6 inches changing to rain,trees will be a rocking 40-50+ winds at times guess I should have held off burning those piles,might be wise purchase least 5 gallon gas for generator.
Plans for today...8 hours part store not sure what afterwards.
Enjoy your day all.
Thomas, with the wind gust predicted, the soggy ground, extra gas for gen is a good idea
Tonight after dinner supposed to hit here hard, so the question is when will the power go off tonight.
took a nice long hot shower, depressed when getting on scale, 240 is an unhappy number for me.
I guess I need to join a gym, but really don't want to be that close to lots of folks.
Hi, how is that treadmill? do you have long covid or short?. :rolleyes:
going food shopping, guess I'd better focus on the salads...
as my primary doc likes to remind me you are your own worst enemy.
37 going to 60, but a lotta rain and high winds expected. Wish it was snow.
Nice snow pix, Lou, and nice turkey gang.
Ken, nice snow, too. Sorry you've been sick, and 22 lbs is a lot.
NHBX, looks like you got most snow of all. We want some.
Kyle, great buck and pretty daughter. Those are very nice shotguns and reliable.
Ron, congrats on the Michigan victory. I forgot to watch. My wife had a Hallmark movie on and I fell asleep in the recliner.
Hope all who are sick will get well soon!
Young people have always had a challenging time moving into adulthood. Movies, TV, music and social media play such a big part and often present unrealistic pictures of life. Many of the positive influences we enjoyed growing up are missing now for so many. Sorry to hear of these tragic deaths. Also, always glad to read of your kids' and grandkids' accomplishments.
Had a great hike at a Nature Conservancy mountain preserve yesterday. Met one other hiker...about my age, grew up only one high school district over, surfed at the same breaks in Virginia Beach and Hatteras, and took the same bus trips up to the mountains to go snow skiing. Was also driving the same model year Tundra. Was like I had a twin. Guess that's why I liked him. :ROFLMAO:
Good Morning!
God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).
46.0F going to almost 60, been Fallon’ a flood since about midnight.
Work is wacky, a line supervisor got canned afyer storming out afyer a “difference of opinion” on how things have been handled re the new training system... yay…
I think I will be bringing in our CDs and portable players and headphones sooner rather than later. “I dunno NUTHIN’!” Is a great way to avoid getting splattered.
Other than that, nothing much to report.
I hope everyone has a happy healthy dry safe blessed day!
You are that far away !
Swill Alps rescue dogs are named after St Bernard's Pass
Mine is named after Berne city.
They are similar, like brother from another mother 😁
Just one thing bothers me. Is there such thing as "medicinal whiskey" ? :oops:
I am pretty sure that all kinds of whiskey (along with cognac) are "medicinal" by default. At least that's what I try to explain to my wife
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Tincture of grain?
tincture of Grape?
Something I have done for a couple decades now is, when there is any sort of forecast that includes any sort of significant accumulation of Global Waming (3+inches) or ice, Icut off a piece of 6mil plastic from a roll and tuck one end in the the hood, go over the roof, and then tuck it in the trunk lid/tailgate/hatch/(whatever is at the rear of the vehicle. If it is light and fluffy, most of it just blows off on its own, anything else slides off with a minimum of effort and no scraping.
i usually keep a roll of black qnd a roll of clear on hand for various projects, besides vehicle coverings.
i only use fresh pieces for the vehicles to preclude damage from accumulated debris, I try to fold them up as neatly as possible and keep track of the “car side” to get multiple uses through a season.
Morning all, 28 going up to 53 and cloudy, calling for >1" of rain later
Got some of the decorations in and unplugged. Still need to clear out the front yard ones, as soon as I figure out where to store the new ones :rolleyes:
Started moving the big racks and piles to get at the back corner with SR. Hope to get a panel or two up tonight if dayjob let's me.
TxDon - hope the rebound is no where near as bad
Rip - how are you holding up ?
M7040 - your help with the children has shown them the way, but they have to walk it, hopefully this goes well.
Mostly - welcome home, lot's of traveling, time to put your feet up and get the bikes tuned up
Anyone want some deer? Seems I have to go out and yell at them to move out, and they just stare at me most of the time. The dog does scare them when she lunges, but even that only moves them a few feet into the woods.
Off to the grind,
Be well,
Good morning, the low is 20 and going to a high of 25°F. Wind E 11 mph. Snow and blowing snow today AND tonight. By the time it is all over we are expecting a little over a foot.
I took another look at the weather map and this dusting stretches all the way into the Carolinas.
Picked up 5 gallons of high test gas for the genny, so now I have 20 gallons, 5 in it and 15 on the side. Tractor all fueled up and back blade treated with pam. New LED work lights installed on the front, they are wired in with the LED amber carnival light on top. Should be good to go.
Many, many moons ago, back in the last century, I was addicted to meth-amphetamines, got myself clean from that with a lot of help from my friends. The real ones. Then after my mother died (1988) I fell right into the cocaine trap. Got myself strung out for a winter and got clean from that in the following summer. The monkey is always there, you just got to be strong enough to keep the monkey at bay. I look back at what I had then ( back then I didn't have a pot to piss in, nor a window to throw it out of) and compare to what I have now and that keeps me clean. Ya, I smoke weed (hash), every day that I don't have to go anywhere. Keep in mind that weed/hash/keif is all legal in Canada. It is just the chemicals that are illegal. I don't need to do a P test for work or to keep my license. I also don't go to the 'states anymore, where they insist on a P test about every 6 months. In fact, I don't leave Ontario.
Helo, I agree with you. Temperature is relative, after a week or so of -40°F temperatures, a day of 0°F is a warmer day and it will usually snow then.
Have a safe day all
