Good morning!!!!

Good morning all.
Prayers sent for your cousin and the entire family Farmer. I can admit now this is what I was worried about before they diagnosed me
with Menieres....scary stuff, right out of the blue.
Lovely day today, 40 going up to 75 in sun and clouds.

Mowed roadsides yesterday using noise cancelling headphones, they seemed to work a little better than standard ear protectors. One thing with that taller tractor, lot of exercise getting up and down, up and down going out to pick up trash. I think I had to stop about 8 times. Just can't mow trash like the regular road crews do.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. Lovely weather for the weekend, then rain Sunday night and very cold Monday morning, hopefully not too cold with all these flowers I've just planted. Food pantry organized a pick party for 10am Monday morning to work on the collards, going to be cold, wet and muddy, and several are bringing little kids. Going to be a Tide day for sure.

Actually I do have one project, try to unstick, or replace, the points in my 1968 Cub Cadet 125. It was fully restored, under a cover, and when the cover came off yesterday, coated in green mold. Sigh. Thankfully the powerwasher crew made short work of that and didn't hurt the decals.
I guess I'll have to find a small wood dowel, take off the plug and do the Top Dead Center deal to set the points. Want to get it running and then sell it, points stick together so often in this damp climate it's just a nuisance since the thing never starts for me.

RNG, finding a bad connection on neighbors apple router seems to have fixed his problems. They spent the whole winter with bad service. They are looking into upgrading whole system.

Good job on finding the loose connection, Ron!

If there's a lot of area to cover, I'd look at one of the new mesh network systems like this one. I rolled my own mish mash of routers and extenders, and the new systems are far easier to setup and less expensive as well.

26 outside this AM. Heading to upper 60's. City job today. Cherry blossoms at lunch. Maybe. Cleared honey to do list except for the big maple that came down while I was away. 5 foot at the base. I need a much bigger chain saw. Lol.
Hope all continue to do well.

Photos! Photos! And have someone stand next to the trunk, se we can get a sense of perspective. Never seen a 5’ diameter Maple before!

Getting the Jeep out of the shelter proved to be a nightmare. First the battery was flatter than p on a plate, .45 volts, so I pit it on charge for 3 hours.....No joy. Called the shop and they came with a booster pack and she fired right up.
All well and good you say? Nope. Clutch was frozen to the flywheel and I couldn't get it into gear until after I worked at it for a good 5 minutes. Finally I get it into gear, then as I am moving forward, the blasted thing didn't want to turn! Finally got it to turn and we put it on a flatbed tow truck and off to the shop it goes. The battery was bought Jan. 26 2018, that is under warranty and the alternator is supposed to have a lifetime warranty to the original owner which is me. So we will see.

Was the battery on a charger all winter, like the Battery Saver I think Don recommended? I've been using a pair of 'em this winter to keep the batteries around here topped up, hooking each one up for a few days at a time every month or so. So far, so good. Despite the name, though, I don't think they'd help a battery that has discharged all the way down to .4V though. With your extremely low temps, it might be a good idea to bring the battery in the Jeep inside for the winter. Not sure what to say about the clutch though. If there's a lot of humidity in the storage area for the Jeep, it'll cause the pressure plate to rust and stick to the friction disc. Best cure for that is to get it out every few weeks and "polish" up those friction surfaces with some driving. Failing that, can you bring it inside and maybe park it in the living room like I do with a couple of my bikes?:confused2::laughing: Sitting unused is very hard on vehicles...

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:00AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 64F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Seems like cancer strikes without rhyme or reason, Farmer. Nobody's safe, but it's especially tragic for young families. :(

Headed south to the San Francisco Bay Area today for a friend's memorial service tomorrow. Lost him a couple weeks ago on the operating table to a stroke. He was a mountain biking buddy with another friend and I; we'd be out every Sunday, covering up to 30 miles on trails, sometimes climbing as much as 5000 feet. Our friend was always first one to the top. Good times with him on old Norton motorcycles, too. He'll be missed.

Picked up the new bearing for the side-by-side yesterday and also found a source of steel for the firewood pallets. It seems Kubota sends its tractors and side-by-sides over on a sort of pallet made from rectangular steel tubing, and the dealer sends 'em to the scrap yard when they're done unloading 'em. They had a stack of about a half dozen of 'em, each about 5'x10' and a lot of tubes in 'em. Gonna borrow the flatbed trailer next week to bring 'em all home; that should keep me busy for quite a while...

Got a shock from the building contractor when he sent me his estimate yesterday. The cost of the building itself was in line, but the rest was three times his initial guess, most of it tied up in the earth moving operations. His water tank cost was pretty ridiculous, too, and that was just for non-potable storage! Might be time to scale back, or find someone with more realistic expectations for what they're worth. Since the fire, contractors are able to charge a king's ransom for their services, and with all the insurance money floating around, they're getting it.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning! 63˚F heading to the 70s, cloudy.
Ron recommend the battery saver. I also got one and mounted it on the golf cart. I did not have it long enough, before down sizing, to get the benefits like Ron did and extend the batteries 15 years.
Buckeye, happy Anniversary, I think, If she comes back from her Mothers.:D

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A cloudy 33ºF start to the day, 34ºF presently with light shower activity, and I anticipate intermittent shower activity and temps ranging near 50ºF later. Pretty much sums up the weekend as well with a high of ~60ºF on Saturday

PT went really well yesterday. The PTist was really surprised to see how much my ROM and strength has improved since the last visit. I was really surprised just how drained I felt afterwards. A white pizza lunch @ 3:00PM on our way home and I was nappy nappy till bedtime. Never made it to the end of the BoSox season opener, but things looked bad from the 1st inning and only got worse as the game went on.

David- I really like those cabinets. A professional looking job. Thanks for sharing your projects.

Drew- The only thing worse than those pucker moments are the skid mark on the undies moments. I am glad you only did an  and/or uckered. Good luck with the Cub.

Farmer- I am sorry to read about your cousin. 34 is way too young. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for her surviving family members and friends.

RonJH- I am happy to read that you were able to help out. Your nei. ghbors router/WiFi challenges.

Bill- I am sorry to read about your Jeep.

The tree service people showed up early this AM as planned to do an assessment of what equipment will be necessary for the "Tree Project." My firewood and landscape mulch needs will be met for a long, long time.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

I hope everyone has a manageable Friday and great weekend.

Good morning to all! Low of 42 this morning, going up to 62. High wind advisory posted until 8pm, gusts to 55. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful...today maybe not so much because of the wind.

Farmer, sorry for your loss, prayers sent for your cousin and her family.

David, nice job on the cabinets! Do they use the same type of slides that would be on a drawer or are they specifically for a verticle slide such as yours?

Got the drip irrigation system up and running yesterday, 3 zones watered, I could hear the plants say aaaahhh! Trees / plants are all finally popping their buds.

Maybe some shop time today, need to get the garden tractor / mower serviced for the season. Noticed a while ago that one front and one rear tire went flat. Both on the same side, so I'm wondering if I ran over a cactus or something last year.

Everyone have a great start to the weekend! Prayers sent.

It's 26° this morning and snowing. It looks like we may have 4-5 inches and more on the way. The high will be in the mid 30's with the winds 15-20 mph. Spring was nice while it lasted.

I did see some Sandhills Cranes going north yesterday so maybe there is still hope for more spring weather.

farmer ... Sorry about your cousin, that's sad to hear.

Not sure what the day will bring.

Hope everyone good start to the weekend.
CWB.

I have 3 different wireless networks in my house, lol. Need one in my barn.

And i mow some of the trash along my road, depending what it is. Every now and then i get a trucker bomb in the yard, dont want to hit those.

Was rough getting up today, last few days ive just been really dragging. Should get my bloodwork results today.

Still need to spread the expensive weed killer on the yard. It wont cover too much.

Treadmill not working again. App just sits in boot loop.. Their only recommended fix is to keep rebooting. Might see if i can return to costco, was a home delivery.
