I can’t teach you to be as good as I am at what I do well because it is talent not taught, same way you cannot teach me to play the guitar- Randy

We all come to this thread with our own unique talents and abilities,

I read the posts here and am constantly and incredibly humbled/impressed/enlightened/motivated to work to become a better person….. And at times saddened too wishing that I could do more than offer my + wishes, hope, and prayers.

Kyle- Your daughter is a heroine by any definition and so are her family and supports. It saddens me that so many gifted get lost in the process of life. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Farmer, when is Big Tractor Power going to come to your farm? Those videos always start off with coming to you from
Western Kentucky...

that's a lot of rain coming, be safe

Very funny Drew. My operation would be laughable on his channel. 50-70 horsepower tractors. No cab. Did you see what he bought for a hobby? He’s Southwest of me, down in the red clay ground on top of limestone.

LS, have you checked out the Guitar Center in ABQ. The ones in Houston area are easy to do business with and have both new and used inventory.

New Albuquerque Music Store Inventory | Guitar Center

My first guitar, after I got out of the USAF, was an Ovation Applause AA14-1 sunburst. I still have it.

That was going to be my first stop. My son plays, and has 3-4 guitars from there. His are all high dollar stuf though. We were thinking to have him get one for us (he's out in Tenn.), but then the risk of shipping it, plus the cost of shipping.

I think that is pretty much accurate.

Which part? Seriously, I believe there are things that are God given and can稚 be taught to those without the natural ability. Hard work and dedication can only buy so much. (That is my strong personal opinion, based on observation and experience.) :D

The police incident yesterday was with a barricaded person with some mental health concerns. The incident was resolved peacefully and without incident.

My wife downloaded a piano teaching app that is really good. She will be proficient in about a year with daily practice longer with less practice, the app says. The app is called "Simply Piano" Simply Piano by JoyTunes - Apps on Google Play

It is used with her iPhone that listens to the notes she plays and gives feedback.

But some things you can start too late in life. My wife's Spanish teacher informed the class they do not have enough time to become proficient.

So Step I guess it depends on the complication of the knowledge sought, divided by the number of hours you dedicate to learning each day, minus your life expectancy.

Plus the level of natural ability, otherwise every little boy could be Tom Brady, Mickey Mantle, or Jimi Hendrix with hard work and desire, we all know that ain稚 so, as much as we would love to believe it.

Snowed off and on lightly all day. Just a dusting now, but not for long. We are supposed to get dumped on at around 3am. They are actually predicting 2-6" for Albuquerque....almost unheard of for the city to get more than an inch or two. It happens, but rare. A few years ago the city got hit with 12", everything was shut down for about 4 days.....

Vet visit went really well. Max got his shot. Then he became the center of attention.... All the staff kept coming out to see him. The vet didn't actually have to see him, but as soon as she heard he arrived, she came out and played with him for about 20 minutes...he's the first 'Standard Schnauzer' she has seen. (She has personally owned Giant Schnauzers). Max just ate up all the attention, showing off how he knows how to "sit" and "stay" at 14 weeks.

Thanks for all the advice about the guitars. We just have to go and be hands on at a couple of stores.

Everyone have a great evening (most of you guys are probably in bed already) :D

Last time I was in Albuquerque it was sleeting so hard that AM radio reception was blotted out, I was traveling east on 40. It was the weekend before Thanksgiving, 1972.

Good evening all. 28F for the start, overcast, calm wind. Wind became brisk, both speed and temp, overcast thinned during afternoon, and high temp was 37F. Choir practice to start the day, revive the fire in stove, and conserve energy and bodily warmth until bike ride. Ride was cold enough that batteries died in GPS :confused2::eek: Walked dog to finish day.
Enjoying the comments on playing musical instruments. As a card caring engineer, :2cents: is that people unrate their ability to become proficient, all it takes is hard work and practice. To become first chair at the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, maybe not.Maintain rhythm for longer than 30 seconds, no way. But there are conductor, or metronomes or sound tracks that can do that for you. :cool2:
prayers for all.

Got the seat repaired on the Kubota. Had some broken parts in the suspension system. Original pin was 3/8”. All I had on hand was 5/16”. So that’s what I used. Guaranteed to hold till it breaks. I’ll attach some photos.
