LS, that is a bunch of snow, what altitude are you?

We are at 6950'. The base of the mountain 3/4 mile away is at 7100', top is at 8300'. Sandia Peak is about 8 miles away to the west, elevation 10,500'. The storm approached from the west, got turbinated over the two mountains and dumped on us.

I'm gonna feel this tomorrow. 2 days - 8 hours of digging stumps and rocks - now I remember why I moved here - to relieve the pain, not re-live the pain. But I finally got some mule driving seat time in, dumping cedars and rocks. No pain no . . . . seat time. The 12 oaks picnic area is ready for the tables. I did ask them if anyone has asked to borrow the "other" club's tractor, they did not know about the tractor apparently I am the only one in both clubs. Would this be like someone asking to borrow your tractor? Hmm lots of investigating still to do and as Mostly said I still need to find my trainer but I'm still on the "bad" renter list and am waiting for a rental to become available. I guess I could work in the green house like Drew . . . They start that next week.

Oh, and Whippers first class went well, she can now tell the difference between a bud lite and a cola can.

LS seeing all that snow makes me really appreciate the clear skies and 72 ˚F weather today.

LS, Has the new restaurant, up on Sandia, opened yet? Wife and I dined at the High Finance many time over the years. She is Sr. VP at a Houston Mortgage Company and they have a branch in ABQ.

The tramway ride, up Sandia, always offered great views at near sunset.

That helps explain it. Pretty, but I致e lost my love of snow that requires moving. I didn稚 realize you were so near Albuquerque, I致e been through that area many times, but decades ago.

I believe mongoose were brought in to control rat population in cane fields. Didn’t work as rats are nocturnal, mongoose daytimers.

To my knowledge we still don’t have a snake population officially.

24 and going to a high of 14°F. Winds N10 gusting to 20 mph.
Sunny.

We did get 1/2" of snow last evening. I am going out today to clean up the piles I missed the other day.

After I plow I will be conserving energy.

Have a good day all

Poured first cup of coffee. 34° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with partly cloudy skies. Got a couple of small projects to do this morning. Then drive to East side of Detroit for a MRI. That should fill most of my day with a 1 hr drive each way if traffic is OK. But they have some of the freeways closed for construction on weekends. Take wife out to dinner when I get back.

LS, lot of snow at your place. Pictures are great. I will leave that much snow with you.

RNG, I thought the concept of making a VW bus into a Class C was a good idea. You do lose the compactness of the Vanagon. Making a VW sidecar would look good on the side of one of your BMW's.:D

Don, does Whipper like one better than the other?

Drew, 104° is a little warm for me. Our front glassed in porch was 85°. Perfect to sit back and relax. The room was originally designed as a solar collection room. We still call it the solar room. That had fans to move the heat into main part of house. We changed the glass to Low E a few years ago. Does not get into the upper 90's anymore.

David, I had to look up Mongoose and it habits. Was surprised to see the cute little Meerkats you see on National Geographic Channel are part of the Mongoose family.

Kyle, the next oil/filter change will be easier. :D

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

I did look at pictures from tail cam yesterday. Nothing but deer and Sandhill Cranes. Couple pictures had at least 5 deer at one time. They show up between 11 and 12 most nights.

41 going to 60 and sunny. Should see a little drying out today.

Kyle, 48mph sounds so fast for a Gator.

Don, sounds like your quest for seat time is off to a good start.

LS, nice snowjob.

Loaded my tax software yesterday, and began the ritual. Then spent the last afternoon of deer season up a tree observing the beauty of the bare hickory and oak limbs against the blue sky, and watching a couple of squirrels and a woodcock. Contentment.

39 going to a sunny 66 today, should be a very pretty day.
As soon as sun comes up, back go the seedling trays into the greenhouse.
I put large paver blocks in front of the doors of the two buildings, really should put a walkway
between the two, maybe ten feet long. Hmmm....pavers in the shape of turtles.
I bet Don could find some for me after he rests for a couple of days.

I've been watching the ten day forecast, pretty warm for January. I'm headed South Thursday just as it gets cold again, good timing,
it's these plants that I'm concerned about. They are going to have to stay in the fairly dark garden shed for a week, won't like that, though
hoping I can get my neighbor to come over on a sunny day and take them out for a ride. Get a little photosynthesis going...

Floating row covers came in yesterday, first part of them. Bought one kit with hoops, basically little temporary greenhouses, hopefully they won't be needed. And this year I'm going to wrap my fig trees if the temps are under ten degrees at night. Last year they all died to the ground, came back slowly, but produced worse than the year before. There are only three small trees so I can wrap some plastic around them. I remember using peach baskets as a kid for this on little plants.

I always like Sunday mornings. Like an extra dose of peace and contentment.
Prayers for those in need.
