Back inside. Ran lawnmower for 2 hours chopping up leaves and blowing them into woods. Some leaves were frozen to the ground. Couple of passes with mower and broke lose from grass. Chopped up leaves looked like dirt. I will either have well mulched lawn or need to reseed it all.

David- We had one cat that I liked. He acted like a dog and would take walks with me and the pack, tongue out and panting all the way. He had all his weaponry. He got in a few tangles in the woods and always returned home battered and bruised; but basically in decent shape. He passed as yours. Your mongoose story is familiar. Fishers in NE disappeared in the 1700-1800's because of deforestation/habitat loss. In the 1950's they were re-introduced to NE to control the porcupines that were eating all seedlings/saplings of the States'/lumber companies' attempts at reforestation. They did their job too well and as the porcupine populations declined the fishers turned to other food resources. Too bad they will eat anything they can catch or find living or dead; domestic animals are easy eats.

Still icy here. It looks like I'll be firing up the tractor tomorrow to deal with this ice.?? Patiently waiting for snow.... patiently waiting for snow.... A couple of weather wave moving across the CONUS next week after the 1.07-08 event passes; hopefully each will draw down more arctic air. 1.11-13 is on the radar.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend and I hope that it continues.

I forgot to post the pics after plowing out the drive / road. The piles are 5-6' tall and go down the full length of the road, about 1500'.

Man, I see why those belts broke on that snowblower....

Had a bit of a fiasco changing the oil on the new Gator. The factory had spun the oil filter on so tight, I had to take off the exhaust manifold to get my big Klein strap wrench on it to get it off. Argh.

Got her done.

I just took the kids for a nice Gator ride. That thing got up to 48mph when it hit the governor. That's fast enough.

Drew's got a hammock in his greenhouse sipping on umbrella drinks. He just needs a gal in a hula skirt to bring him his drinks.

Trailboss Don has his work cut out for him deciphering which group has the tractor keys.

Jay, hope your icy conditions recede. Drive careful to avoid the idiots.

Argh."- Kyle It's getting to the point that if one torques too hard trying to remove a filter or something similar that it cracks the block or some other "essential" component.

There was very little road traffic here today. The traffic that I saw was just the "locals" doing their business. I almost always have outdoor footwear already set up for every condition anticipated as well as footwear appropriate for some nice warm sauna, jacuzzi, or greenhouse. .... But no dress shoes.:embarrassed: I do have a pair of dress sneakers here somewhere. No flop flips nor Croc's.

Good evening all. 35F this morning, clear, calm. Light winds all day, sky remained clear, and high temp was 67F. bike ride, first 60 miler of the season, and a great day to do it. Nap and lunch took care of the rest of the day. Cowboys doing all right in their playoff game with Seattle.
Ted that much snow and no blade does make it more of a challenge

David, weren't mongoose brought in to do snake control, after snakes got established on island? :confused2:
