good morning all, WARMER going to 55 today LOVELY. Ice is gone no more falls

I think I need to order some more battery minders to keep it all charged during winter. Currently have two of them hooked up and using a bigger one to rotate with. Any good suggestions?

Today is a good day to get outside and check over the property more closely after the cold spells

Good morning! 45˚F heading to the mid 60s with cloudy skies and NW wind.

BEF have a good 1/2 last day at work.

Store run and seat time on the agenda today.

Stihl, it was the replacement for a 25 year old O26 that apparently got run on straight gas on my son’s watch. I tried to get a new piston and cylinder for it, but we’re only available aftermarket, which I was leery of.

Today might be a Costco run, and I need to go to the airport and fill some gas cans. I use Avgas in all my seasonal off road equipment, it stores for years with no issues, and I have never found an engine that doesn’t like it, and I’ve been using it for at least 30 years. It does contain lead, so it’s a no-go for anything with a Catalytic Converter though.
Those aftermarket piston/cyl kits are pretty decent and cheap enough. If the saw is unusable now, why not try it?

Where are you able to buy av gas now? I've tried a few airports and they scoffed at me and sent me away...

The SIL reports that he was able to get his Kubota running last night, without me (thank GOD), and moved into the garage where it belongs. It was left out. He has no block heater or battery tender on it. I can get and install a battery tender for him, but he old B1550 has little press-in freeze plugs, so a block heater is not happening.

Frits, nice video. But could not reply to your message, as if it didn't recognize the file type

you can stand on your own four feet
Was trying to post video. Not very sure about how to do it. Has to be via link. So have to create a link and then copy I think.
That vid was Zion learning to come in through the door from the hallway

Morning all 34 going up to 56 and sun is up.
Got the rest of the driveway markers out.
Moved some firewood up to the house.
change the air filter and rear wiper on the jeep.
Went to the store to pick up some stuff for new year's

Then ran out of steam, still not back to normal yet.

Hope to get the shelves in the garage down so I can panel the last bit of wall. This time without crushing any fingers!

This morning woke up to hear lots of saw and chippers as my neighbors clean up the Ash trees that fell during the past storms. My latest ones are in the forest only, took the rest down when I had time and could be safe. Been hit by a tree, only a small section, do not recommend it!

Feel better LS and check.

Rip - wife may be sore, but sounds like recovery is in full swing.

Drew - good luck with the dentist treasure extraction. Keep the piece so you have it in case old dentist puts up a fight.

BEF - that basement video was really good and it pointed out that I have to make sure the bottom i sealed as well as the top of the foam boards. Thank you!
Happy last day at job!

IXLR8 - glad you got the tree down with no issues. Snagged trees are such a pain.

M7040 - I have lots of battery tenders, a plus and a junior are the two I use most of the time. Maybe some others have more info on fancier ones? I think the plus is about 15 years old. The juniors seem to work fine too, but are more finicky on low charge batteries.

Be well,

I have had good luck with the CTEK line of battery maintainers. Most of their models won't charge a dead battery, but they are very good at safely maintaining a battery. I leave one on my sports car from Nov to April and it doesn't hurt the battery. The present day equivalent to the model I use is the MXS 5.0. They are not cheap, about $118 for that model, but they work very well. Mercedes, BMW and Ferrari rebrand them for use in their cars, for twice the money.

65°F and .01 inches rain

Semi productive day yesterday, enough to be pleased. Not that it takes much these days LOL

I was pleased with my pw effort where the tractor had been leaking oil.

Neighborhood Holiday gathering at a neighbors this afternoon. I’m grilling some steak to slice up and take.

Attempted to do an online order for Lowe’s but it wouldn’t complete so guess I have to phone it in. On the web it wouldn’t allow me to choose delivery and on the app an error message at checkout.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Walked the property. The upper field had perhaps 100 tree shelters down from the high winds. The lower fields were ok. see pics
Was actually too warmly dressed for the walk but nice change. The walnut and Oak trees looked fine

Good morning to all! Low of 27°, going up to around 40°, mostly cloudy. Another 1/2" dusting last night. Next real big chances of precip occur on Sunday and Monday.

Mostly, sorry to hear no fishes were volunteering to test the line.... at least you were out on the boat right?....

Drew, good luck at the dentist. Hope not too much trouble to get the fragment out. I second the thought of keeping the piece just in case it's needed for proof.

IXLR8, good job on the tree. Definitely nice when things work out.

BEF, CONGRATULATIONS! --- now the REAL work will begin.....

Kilroy, nice to hear that the shopping went well and you had a good lunch. Be careful up at the woodlot. Enjoy the outside while it's nice out!

I'm feeling much better this morning.... strange having such a short period of feeling blah.... I'm not complaining, just hoping it wasn't a predecessor to something worse.....

Pellet pickup is definitely on the agenda for today. Researching prices yesterday, TSC is the cheapest by $0.30 a bag. Cheaper than HD or Lowes, which is surprising.

Knee has been complaining, so not sure if anything else will get accomplished today.

Everyone have a great day!

I actually have one of those CTEKs and never used it as a trickle charger but will start to hook that up since I have it

I just retired the O26 and gave it to the shop that I bought the MS261 from as a good source of parts for them. I kept the bar and chain.

I have a long involvement with aviation and the local airports, so it is no problem for me to get AvGas. One local airport has a self service pump and is fine with people filling cans. Ones that fuel from a truck generally don’t want to be bothered
