I have used these in past and they seem to work
yes do not provide leaping/launching spots for squirrels to achieve higher ground
make them start at the bottom...

37º to 71º today and clear skies.
Playing in the snow sounds nice but you can have all the other cold related nonsense :p Been there lived that.
TGIF - The holiday season is upon us. This year flew past me.
Time to see if last years fancy blinking LED house lights will work again...soon
Friend has a power snake I can use to clear the roots out of the back yard drain line. Said he hasn't used it in 20 yrs...
I may have to trade him out of it and put a 2 way clean out in my pipe so I can keep ahead of the situation.

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:00M.
Sunny. High 66F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph.

Uneventful town run yesterday, and got most of the fixin's for Thanksgiving dinner. Took three stores to do it, though. And it seems like the bills were half again higher than last year.

I heard on the radio that Diesel #2 is in short supply, and truckers are having a hard time finding it. I didn't notice any lines here, yet. But I didn't look at the prices, either.

Cleaned up some rust spots on the battery box and where it mounts to the frame on the red bike, then painted them to prevent more. Back working on that most of the day today.

Good morning! 46˚F only rising to 52˚ cloudy with a light West wind.

Kia battery replaced but start/stop still has not kicked in. I'll have to go down the list of qualifications to see which one is not met, or not do anything because I immediately disable it on each drive anyway. The ranger took a few trips before it's start/stop started working again, so first I'll just wait a while before I do anything.

Front yard is mowed and edged, the frost last week made it look splotchy green and brown.

Neighbor called about her garage door not working, after various tries and troubleshooting got it working. A GFI had tripped and all the outlets in the garage including the one in the ceiling for the garage door opener were affected. A reset and everything worked.

Tomorrow will be challenging at the "farm". Predicted 37˚ and raining. At least I got my warm holiday tractor hat in mail yesterday.

Most pumps in my immediate area are of short supply. That's probably a 30 mile radius.

More concerning is dairy products. Went to two different stores in two different directions yesterday for heavy cream and milk. No joy. Also, one pumpkin pie, I needed two. Last case of my favorite beer too.

I can deal with most anything, but lacking heavy cream puts a dent in my cooking dishes and morning coffee. And I am not about to get a cow to get around it. Do without for a while.

2 tbsp cashews (or almonds)
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 cup water

Mix in blender, no cow needed.

I forgot to say I have a new attachment for the SS to play with today. I'll be unboxing (he hee) and attaching an old set of forks.
Soon I'll be eyeing up the old dead tree and some too low big branches on the big eucalyptus trees by the creek.

23 earlier when I went out to feed the birds...going to 48.

Happy Independence day Helo!

Don, I bet a lot of that wasted gas idling is due to folks starting their vehicles and letting them warm up before driving...not good for modern engines, but some folks like a warm car before they get in this time of year. Maybe down south they use long idle to run the AC before they get in? RNG, I never thought of that feature wearing out batteries prematurely, but sure makes sense.

Thomas, most of my hunting these days is an excuse to sit in the woods and use binoculars to watch wildlife. But, I could be tempted if the big monster comes by.

Yesterday's hike did find us at the waterfall...my son got an alert in the morning that Shenandoah had reopened the Skyline Drive...We did see plenty of leftover frozen rain, but not on the roads. It was 34F at the start of the hike, and windy, and down to 23F by the time we finished.

Overall Falls had the best flow I've seen...93' high, and a bonus of 3 other good waterfalls above it on the trail.
...

What's that hike like? Time wise? Level of conditioning? Footing?

I take it since you were doing it after the park re-opened, the footing must have been good.

Morning all, 30 and only going up a bit, with wind and sun.

Magic buck levitated again and is gone, guess PennDOT came and got it, and thanks to the local police for following up with them, need to bring something to the department to thank them.

Helo -happy independence day!

Red curry-try to make it every few weeks. Great stuff

Son is going with Girlfriends band into NYC Sunday, bitter end pub. Glad he is getting more exposed to this. I started clubbing with my older brother in NYC when I was 15 too. Back then I could get in uncarded and buy drinks though, his adventure will be during the day with no alcohol served. Having a brother 4 years older was a big advantage to get into clubs when I was young.

Spent many hours getting ingredients for wife to make lasagna last night. Lactose free Ricotta and mozzarella, she already had the sausage, sauce, ground meat. Real lasagna that I can eat, a real treat!

Still working, late night , early morning. But weekend is almost here.

Be well,

That's a great idea. But I need the fat and calories. I have issues keeping weight on.
You know that the cashews or almonds have the fat you crave, you can also add a couple of dates or maple syrup to the recipe. I add the dates and it almost tase like a vanilla milkshake. Try it.

My mom uses canned milk from the baking isle in the grocery store with everything including coffee. She can't grasp the idea of milk not coming from an udder.

Pet Milk - condensed milk I poured over my cream of wheat or oatmeal in the AM. LOL.

Your probably cringing at my food choices. LOL. I assure you, the only thing I take to heart is moderation in all things. Although I am back to eating more red meat - Lamb.
